your trunk lid will rattle, there is a weak spot in the center of the lid up against the rear window that vibrates like hell, i'm still working on a solution.

DARN!!!! work harder lol jk

adam337 03-04-2009 12:46 AM

the reason it rattles like that is because it is two seperate pieces on top of each other.. i put a effload of packing foam between them and screwed them back together.. it worked to some point but still rattled like a bitch. the only solution i know of is shaving the trunklid like bdyman, aftermath, and that new dude

AbHeLlRaZoR 03-04-2009 12:59 AM

I'll find a way, I've got too much time on my hands now days...

guiguilandry 03-04-2009 02:39 AM

I'm the new dude I guess...... lol

adam337 03-04-2009 03:01 AM

we are talking about 2 different sections of the trunk lid.

I will do some emailing today.

Im going to say 700-100 sq ft for the group buy. Keep in mind these people usually have "bulk packs" in the 50 Sq Ft, some 80 most 100 sq ft packs.

So your not going to get 30 Sq ft... Or 60...Its probably going to end up at 100 sq Ft packs.

As far as $1/sq ft. Depends on what we go with. I DOUBT we can get Second Skin for 41/sq ft. I will try though.

bonez1203 03-04-2009 09:07 AM

i'm in if the price is right

Ryan from Ohio 03-04-2009 09:35 AM

E mails sent. We shall see give it a few days.

I need some anyhow...lol

bonez1203 03-04-2009 09:49 AM

thanks for taking time -Ryan

cherrington17 03-04-2009 12:22 PM

thanks for the help ryan!

....and now we wait....

Ryan from Ohio 03-04-2009 12:24 PM

Ive gotten a little feedback from a dealer. He thinks he can get close to $1 sq/ft. Its probably going to be hard to get them to that level though...

Update.

Just got a response from Second Skin. Basiclly we can get the 80 sq ft bulck pack of Damplifier Pro for only $247ish... thats $3.08 a sq ft.

IMO not the way to go.

bonez1203 03-04-2009 12:39 PM

i'm with you Ryan kinda pricey for the amount we will be ordering

meadus101 03-04-2009 12:45 PM

I could use like, 10-20 feet. haha.

Ryan from Ohio 03-04-2009 12:51 PM

Just got another reply from another vendor. They again are offering only the highest end mat dampner. Then they also offered a mat that goes over said dampner for even more control.

While the offer isnt that bad on the later portion you guys would do a back flip at the mat pricing...

cherrington17 03-04-2009 01:22 PM

 dynomat xtreme level pricing?

who was the first dealer? (what product?)

personally, because my car gets alot of heat flucuation in a year, i'd rather spend a little more and get some mat that won't fall off, rather then having to keep tearing it open and reapplying (or rematting)

i know this isn't an issue for everyone.

stupid wny

lonnie 03-04-2009 02:13 PM

Couldn't you just use the lower grade dampening mat with a spray adhesive....problem solved with it falling off!

Ryan from Ohio 03-04-2009 02:27 PM

So far Ive heard back from Second Skin, Cascade, B Quiet. I got E mails to Fat Mat, RAMMAT, eD also.

Ryan from Ohio 03-05-2009 11:52 AM

Well I ws just told by a dealer 41/sq foot isnt going to happen unless we order 10,000 Sq ft worth... lol

Im just going to order some of the stuff from McMaster and give it a try.

YALEROYNOT 03-05-2009 12:23 PM

rammatt would b my choice second skin has a great product but the price will blow my buget, rammatt has almost as good of a product it is way less in price, I will prob order 2 rolls of bxt (doors, trunk lid and sides), 6 yards ensolite (for the floor), I would like to put a layer of ensolite on the roof down the road.

Ghadsphi 03-05-2009 12:24 PM

Well if you really want to crunch number for a real good deal i'm in for 100 sq ft, could probably get an equal ammount from the grand am site. Lot more of them on the west coast.
When my coworker is back to work (he has rotating days) I think it's tonight at 9pm, but he's off the next 2.I'll ask him if he can get deals on it. I'm not sure about his parts contacts. He gets good work done, stupid work, but it's done good.

Ryan from Ohio 03-05-2009 02:22 PM

The dealer just told me he couldnt get below $3/sq ft...

WTF?

I can buy it direct from Second Skin for under $3... regular damplifier.

Ive come to the conclusion Im NOT buying Second Skin... lol May aswell by Dynamat at their current pricing...

Ghadsphi 03-05-2009 02:43 PM

Well hopefully my boy will show up tomarrow. he's been off 2 on for tonight then off 2, if he wasn't moron he's just phone it in. But like me he need the money.

Ryan from Ohio 03-05-2009 04:26 PM

Well as it stands right now Fat Mat and Elemental Designs has the best deal...

cherrington17 03-05-2009 04:50 PM

secondskin is quoting PRO though... i could careless for that. if i was getting it, i'd get the regular mat.

hmm... FatMat didn't have a great result w/ heat/cold, from your last link... any way to get it to stay, stuck, better?

Ryan from Ohio 03-05-2009 07:06 PM

Update...

Looks like Elemental Designs is going to give us a direct 20% discount for our buy. Which means you can buy any of their sound deadner products @ 20% off listed price.

For some of you just wanting cheapest mat, thats $0.80 a sq foot. And you order whatever amount you want... Even 1 sq... lol

Im pursuing this right now as I type. I think this is our best avenue.

Sound Deadner Showdown is a good site. The operator is a good guy, but his whole deal is a bit outdated right now.

cherrington17 03-05-2009 07:25 PM

very interesting.

would we have to order collectively, or is this just an aleromod.com deal?

Ryan from Ohio 03-05-2009 07:59 PM
