![]() There it be! WTH kind of plug is it... Hope I can wrench it off... |
NOT - plug is on the other side of the axle, towards the engine. No wires, just a bolt/plug
|
The plug is above the CV axle passenger side.
That picture is quite obviously the passenger side since you can see the steering rack. You can also see the plug with its odd end clearly above the CV axle. Its a rusty looking sucker. |
Ok, found out the hard way, that plug is NOT the fluid check plug.
The actual fluid check plug is a 7/16 hex brass plug, all by itself. You have to be under the car to see it. Passenger side- in FRONT of the CV axle. It is between the oil pan and the transmission. |
That's what I said...
|
Any way to add a dipstick, even for temporary use? This design is genuinely crappy.
Also, I have never heard of any new transmission fluid smelling bad. Now burnt transmission fluid is so stinky that you will never forget that smell (although I could not describe it). |

can you (or someone) get a picture of exactly where/what it is people are looking for... to compensate for the last blunder of posting the wrong one? |
No update on this? I am curious myself.
|
Sorry but I cant do it. I dont have a jack here at my place right now.
The picture was taken from the rear side. The plug is actually towards the front- kinda between the oil pan and the transmission. it is a BRASS plug. You will know it when you see it. |
