Though I cannot foretell the future, I am getting the car ready now to attempt to be presentable. Being in VA makes it easier than being in TX. If I am not deployed or wrapped up in some other life event I intend to make it.
Count me in. Don't know if the wife and babe would be up for a roadtrip in a compact car though. Or if I would be up for dealing with my wife's small bladder...lol |

I would like to propose we all save up for some awesome prizes for the trivia portion. Not small things like a bottle of armor all. I think it would inspire us all to get caught up on our OLDS history.
|
Quote:
Nope:lol: Maybe you aren't one of them but Oldsman/oldsnut/redog are always up front and speeding. You've only been to one the last couple years right? I think i only saw you at my first ASS.....the one where the guy with the blue alero had to get his car towed cause it wasnt tuned right or something. I did love that car....who was that again? dude never posts.... |
Quote:
That would have been Randy (RowdyGLS)....and I think the issue wound up being a clogged cat. I guess you weren't a part of the conversation during the return trip......quite possibly one of the more legendary ASS stories.:awesome: |
Quote:
You did not post this!! OMG I go every year and I live almost twice as far. Quote:
I have no idea what you're talking about ;) |
Quote:
lol, i left after go carts that year so anything after that idk lol |
i am the best man at a wedding on that friday otherwise i would do my best to try and find a way to make it...maybe I won't be busy next year and maybe some of the kansas people would be willing to caravan...I only live about 40 miles from blackjack

We have done this. WOT Tech donated some damn nice prizes a couple years back.......bottom line knowledge didn't get better. You can not bribe someone to learn and retain that info. One must have an interest to learn it and retain it. But for all of you to get some knowledge and be prepared.......a few questions..... What was the paint code for Polo Green? What year was rear disc brakes no longer standard? Who was the first American car company to mass produce cars via an assembly line? |
Quote:
im going to bitch and say thats not fair lol. first two sound like oldsmobile specific and then the third is a curve ball. |
Quote:
actually the third is not.............One would think a master mechanic would know some history |
This is an Oldsmobile show, so why wouldn't we have Oldsmobile questions?
When I watch "This Old House" they arent showing people how to make a cake |
Hopefully there won't be any construction this year. That was annoying. Funny to watch the donks go off-roading though.
|
We should have our PCMs done by then....hint hint:) Highly doubt I will be able to attend but WOT-Tech is in a better position this year to donate something as a prize for the ASS event.

iv always understood it was henry ford with the model t. He got the idea from a meat packing factory and after that assembled his cars by way of assembly line |
Quote:
No first cars on an assembly line was Oldsmobile!! :scpimp: But, Ford, made it famous because of speed of his assembly line and also made a cheap car that every man could afford..... |
Depending on what day Papa Rad goes up, I might ride up with him if he's cool with it. If not, I'll try to ride the bike up there with them. Just got a new full time job, and don't get vacation time until next year. Baby should be here in the next couple weeks as well. :)

no it was 1901 the Olds curved dash. He produced 425 cars. |

Grr, Henry Ford, I hate that sucker, he epitomized what was bad about the country then and now, would have been the first to relocate his crap to China if he could have (don't worry, I'll be ok in a minute.....) Hey, anybody going to be heading North on I65 thru KY, en route to the ASS 2012?? |
Quote:
  Classic |

I actually just had a dream about driving my car though field of slushy mud sliding around the whole time. |
Quote:
OK, I'll be contacting companies in the next couple of weeks :D Quote:
You had to be there for this, it was major :rotflmao: material |
Quote:
i was tripping when i went to bed. thats probably why... |
Quote:
that was funny, but they did look pretty good honestly. and i hope there is no construction either. me and my buddy scott are looking forward to this year, we are ready for a little vacation and be with other olds enthusiasts. :) |
