for now, its a bryson arms model 59 9mm. pretty decent gun. but in the near future i will probably be getting a smith and wesson m&p 40. 15+1 rounds. |

Oh boy, I'd put a rush on that m&p personally, a friend of mine had a jennings 9mm (same as that bryco) and it was known to have the firing pin drop at random times and jam almost every shot. My jennings j22 would also slam fire and go full auto, both guns were destroyed. |

yeah my buddy already broke the firing pin my 9mm from dry firing, i had to replace it. so far the gun has not jammed, and its a jennings firearms brand, i got it for 75 bucks. once i have 600$ to throw on a gun i will. but for now this one will do. |
guns have nothing to do with cars? ... anywhoo. seeing that i started this thread i can post what ever i want. and i want to say that my Grand am GT now has a thrush/dynomax welded crossflow. build just like a 80 series flowmaster, it sounds great. and at 50 bucks for parts and labor i can't complain. i have video but it sucks, and i have a picture but i think its to large to upload.

went on a drive for gun permit purposes. lol

Friend showed up with a new car today. Turned out to be an 01 red 4dr 2.4 alero. In a few hours we put on a cai, new headunit, and turned half the interior lighting blue. It's in nearly mint for an 01, runs great. My only concern is a loud ticking sound. I think it's more of a rattle then engine knock though. So far unable to diagnose it.

post a vid, a large part of the 2.4l engines that I have heard are louder than the ecotec

LED plate light :) thanks nas for the suggestion on LEDs.
How many LEDs did you use on your grand am? I used a strip of 6. ![]() |
^^^^^
I measured by the length of the plate not by LED count. i wanna say 12 lol |
thats why yours is so bright lol! i only did mine to the length of the hole where the stock bulb went. didnt want it on the actual paint.
maybe if you reduced that number to 6 you wouldnt have that much light shining to the ground. though i kinda like it the way you have it. i didnt have to solder any wires either ;) |
1. Got stock muffler installed. New super long Magnaflow in the midsection too. Idle and cruising is dead silent. Still has some vibration/noise under load but mostly due to the turbo being loose I assume. It's much quieter than before at least.
2. Ordered new air filter (previous one's been on over 2 years wtf) 3. Ordered exhaust tips. |
Here's a actual night shot with the led license plate. This is In the garage, not outside. It's raining and I ain't about to pull the car out in it

I didn't use the backing from the original led strips. If I end up getting rid of the car, I'm keeping the lights. What I did was buy double sided tape and placed that on the paint. It's the same thing as having those vent visors that don't go into the window channel. That's why I didn't care. That shit is worthless and peels off with hot water and patience. Won't damage the paint. I've taken those vent visors off before. Anyways, what you could do is find a way to hide the strip so it's not as obvious and cut yourself a foot of LED. BTW I had actually taken 3 LED's off. It's less brighter now. It looks like what Lexus and BMW are trying to do with their plate lights. ![]() Quote:
I like that. I might do that to my Cutlass to give it a more mature look. BTW I know you cheated :p you used the part that had the wire already stuck to it. You will have to solder the rest of that roll though if you use it. Just so you know! |
nas- yup i did. lol worked well! i know i gotta solder the rest (sucks) but i wont be using it for anything else i dont think. my trunk bulb is fine.
your plate looks much better now. mine is in place of where the stock bulb went, just stuck a medal plate in place to stick the leds to so it wouldnt be on paint. so you are rockin 6 leds now? or 3? or 8?? lol |
LOL you could also do footwells or give your car courtesy lights/puddle lights. That's what I originally bought it for. I'm just too lazy to go hunt down the wiring that triggers the light to go on when the door is open. Plus I wanna do the rear disc conversion before I sink more money into the Grand Am.
Right now, I'm focused on the Cutlass. Gotta make some mods for everyday use. BTW soldering is not that hard. It's actually kinda fun. When you get the hang of it, you can manage to convert your car into something completely different. lol |
