One would think this is true but the past has shown otherwise. My hood was one of 4 or 5 prototypes to see if it would be profitable, obviously it wasnt. Alerostyle didn't do great either. The problem is everybody says they want something and then when it is produced they don't like it anymore or don't have the money. Long before alerostyle I actually had a small business loan to produce OEM alero carbon fiber hoods. Had a real talented smaller local carbon fiber company out of my home state of south dakota. They would keep the molds, and I would get 100 OEM hoods at roughly $170 a piece. I thought I would easily be able to sell them for $350-400 and make a real nice profit, but I decided after some long hard thinking to not go through with it...........

Satsuriku 03-06-2008 02:59 PM

personaly i think if the hoods were done in group buys of 10 it would be do'able, but thats just me

hok666 03-08-2008 12:27 AM

Id like a hood for 350-500 before shipping

Mr_Reed 03-08-2008 12:07 PM

well if the price is 350-400 on a Carbon Fiber OEM Hood I'd be in on a group buy.

hok666 03-10-2008 01:13 PM

I would be on the group buy too. Oh and what about fenders powerlifter182?

lonnie 03-10-2008 02:19 PM

I agree, but here's an alternative to the big silver circle with the pin through the middle. They're flush mount with a cover that opens, and you can lock them. They'd only be needed if the hood made didn't have a stock latch.

Almost can't even see them against the carbon fiber.

Same here 100%.

powerlifter812 03-10-2008 07:35 PM

hok666: you can plan on fenders too.

tw0123 03-10-2008 10:26 PM

sorry for it being off topic a bit, but what would you be doing with the fenders? just stock fenders or something with vents to help release hot air as well or not? just curious to what may come available in the future for our cars...

Carbon Fiber fenders and trunk o.O!

adam337 03-11-2008 02:53 AM

powerlifter812 03-11-2008 07:34 PM

We have a few fender designs in various stages right now. We'll be doing: OEM, flared (sort of like the dodge viper), and probably a vented set later on.
