^ya, but do u have coilovers or just the springs?

Steve03TropicTeal 05-19-2004 12:52 PM

that sucks. i dont wanna get springs if it ruins the chance of getting warranty service on anything suspension related...

Naich 05-19-2004 01:12 PM

well, if maintaining your warranty protection is your #1 priority, than modding can't be an option for you. They will always give car modders hard times with warranty work. You're better off leaving it stock I guess.

Or just get a wing. IMO it doesn't add much to the appearance with just a wing, except usually make a car look worse. But the Razzi wing alone is allright.

You're not going to get a really nice looking car by only changing the wing though. Maybe you can put that $300 away and get some rims later on?

2000_olds_alero - I have Intrax springs with KYB struts

ptrudel 05-19-2004 03:01 PM

and they're givin u a hard time? that's bunnyin retarded...

Steve03TropicTeal 05-19-2004 03:07 PM

i guess its not my #1 priority.. What would possible suspension issues on 2003 Aleros be?

Final-Reality 05-19-2004 03:12 PM

Off topic but do the spring tech springs give the largest drop?

ptrudel 05-19-2004 03:14 PM

i think between spring tech and sprint performance it's pretty close...i've got sprint performance ones, and they advertise 1.75"...i got a lil over 2" drop

BLK03GXS 05-19-2004 05:11 PM

Do the springs... the cost of the wing would be higher than 300... and dont do nuttin..
The springs will make your car handel better...
And refrence the install you dont even need a spring compressor, or air tools you can do it all by hand... just get a freind to help

Springs

I had my mech do mine. He charged me $50 to do it. Any mech can do it.

I don't know about doing it by hand. The stock springs are under a lot of pressure. About 600 ft lbs worth. They could take your head off.

Steve03TropicTeal 05-19-2004 07:45 PM

Springs dont mess iwth camber or your toe in/out or anything?

Nikatrel 05-19-2004 11:20 PM

No one answered this for steve, so I will.

The CAI will not Void your warranty as far as I know.

Its a bolt-on. And if something happens, bolt it off, and deny all claims that you had one. :D

Like i said again, the CAI would be the best if your worried about warranties all around. Then save the rest toward some rims or window tint. (Unless ya already got tint).

Steve03TropicTeal 05-20-2004 12:24 AM

heres tha thing with tha tint I want it bad, BUT i live in MI where you cant have ANY tint on front side windows.

And i hang out in suburbs of detroit where cops have nothing ebtter to do cept pull over kids in cars they think have illegal tint.

So id have to go dark in back and none in front or lighter in front.. which would look kinda dumb, i think.

they make a CAI for the 2.2 that is reasonable?

sound_xtreme 05-20-2004 01:06 AM

so just go to the doctor and get a permit to have whatever tint you want on it. lol

Naich 05-20-2004 01:08 AM

you don't need to worry about camber settings with a drop with springs.

Only worry about it if you get coilovers that drop you well more than 2".

However, you should get an allignment after you get springs.

Steve03TropicTeal 05-20-2004 10:54 AM

The doctors note only works during the day.

If you have a car with tint and a doctors note, you cant drive it after dark.. Its crazy i know, but ive talked to optitricians about it. Or whatever they are called.

Youngblood77 06-06-2004 07:15 PM

Just wondering.......anyone got a picture of a coupe with STOCK 15"s and a set of springs installed? If-so, please note what springs were used..... I'm thinking this is my next mod after mt Naich-supplied CAI gets here. Cheap, relatively easy, and big "bang-for-the-buck" factor...

flalero 06-09-2004 05:02 PM

go with the springs. That was the second thing I did to my car, exhaust was first, of course. I have the springtechs, they ride stiff, but I like that sporty feel. You can kind of see the drop on my avatar. That is with the stock 16's, though.

AleroChick01 07-01-2004 01:33 AM

This is sort of off topic but I went to price checking for springs a few weeks ago and the cheapest price I got was $550 for the springs and the installation + another $80 or so for an alignment. It might make a difference that the springs I asked about are Eibach. What brand of springs can you get for under $300 and what's a reasonable price for the install?

flalero 07-01-2004 09:28 PM

I paid $150 for my springs shipped. I put them on myself, so their was no installation charge. I did pay about $60 for my alignment, though.
