I dont believe it could be the cap unless its something with the digital readout. The capacitor itself without the readout wont "consume" electricity. I know when they go bad they puff or blow up, take your pic.

battery was at 12.2 today at 12 with the car being parked since 6pm yesterday, id have to say it was the capacitor, i only paid 20 off amazon for it, it was worth a shot, any body who wants to mess with it can get it for 10 dollars shipped
