My 99 had the door on it, and it wouldn't fit all bottles, but it fit some. I guess it depends on what you drink. I also have a console out of later model one that doesn't have a door. Not sure if the size is any different or not. Never measured.

Usually speed loaders for my .41 mag. and loose change.

Yeah the ashtray holder is out of my car, and i now just keep my 3" buckshot in there for the times im driving and i see coyotes, or in the fall time when pheasants come into season i just keep my game shot in there. I never keep change in my car, i always put it into a jar when i walk into my house. and i use the actual cup holder to hold a tin or a pop, and when i have more than one pop i use the backseat cup holders

so... i'm the only one who has actually done anything with theirs?

 probably, actually i read somewhere somebody was thinking about doing something with it. I was actually thinking about cutting out a hole in there so that i could fit the ipod cord there and so that i can plug my ipod usb into my deck, and then use that space as like a little dock in my car. |

let's see a pic of that... |
Change and gum wrappers for the most part. Plus any other misc. odds and ends that don't really belong anywhere haha
|
i put my phone in there if theres a drink in the other one. change used to go there but it rattled too much with the sub so now its just justs there all clean and pretty

Using my ashtray to take care of a spare foglamp (hard to get in Germany) along with some internals of my cruise control switch (gear and some kind of pushrod) funny thing is, its in an old box that was for rubber bands that where needed with my braces, I had as a kid.
I think I also have some coins in it, can't remember. The Cupholder normally carries my cellphone along with some tissues. I don't have any problem fitting any kind of bottle in any cupholder (Germans seem to have small bottles compared to the USA) Greets |
my headunit is in that place now, lol....but I had the ashtray package so thats what was originally there
|
Are we talking about the one in front of the shifter, or behind it? Or that empty space under the HVAC controls? lol
|
the one under the HVAC, thats the ashtray area and many are reffering to that, thats where I am
|
i don't have a flip down thing under my fog light switch... it's just a hole =( i've never had one. i use that cup holder for receipts until i think to throw them all away, and sometimes change and pens get lost in there too. the rear one will fit most bottles and travel cups, but it's not big enough for some.
oh and mine never came with an ashtray |
Wow looks like they left some stuff out on yours lol. I use the front cupholder for spare change or a second soda. I just have to remember to move it before I can put the car in park, which is stupid. As for the space under the HVAC controls I think there are a couple of relay switches in there and that's about it.

I took mine to the dealer when it was still pretty new and said "hey... this cupholder won't even fit a 20oz!" Then they replaced the center console with one with a bigger cupholder. It was a TSB...
And if you want to complain about cupholders drive a European car. I had to but an 8oz coffee mug that would fit in my "cupholder" and not smash my knuckles when I shifted to 5th (or turn on my passenger heated seat...). |

Nope lol. I've been working on fiberglassing a mount to hold my air ride gauge in it. |
Quote:
correct, the cup holder behind the shifter couldnt hold shit unless you had a newer model or used the TSB. my old alero has the old style still, can only hold cans... |
I can't seem to find the hole you're talking about....

^ Dayum!! lol That looks really good. How did you do it? Fiberglass?
|
