Progress on the Trunk

Was busy today, made a lot of progress on the trunk today, wiring is all ready for the T1500, speakers are all hooked up and sound great. Will probably add some decals to the back of the subwoofer box. Tonight I will take a picture when the etched plexiglass is lit up.

Had to make my own tweeter pod out of mdf with some black and grey carpet.

Damn man that looks sweet!! Did you etch the Plexiglas yourself or have it made for you?

S8track16 02-18-2014 04:14 PM

Thanks, I made it, bought an air eraser to do it.

The 8000k HIDs

S8track16 02-19-2014 02:30 PM

Good to go for the summer.

Added in the t1500, and DC subwoofer (purchased the last set of RCAs needed), added carpet to the subwoofer box, and slightly angled the one panel. Also removed the rockford fosgate windshield decal.

question

So one amp for the sub one for 6x9s?

S8track16 02-19-2014 03:17 PM

The T1500 for the subwoofer and the t400-4 for 2 Infinity Kappas 6.5s in the front doors, 2 crescendo ft1 super tweeters and 2 crescendo pwx 6.5s.

Nice

Made some changes today. Cut-out the DC logo, router-ed the edges and wrapped it in black vinyl. Then cut-out a DC logo insert and painted that black/red and added red LEDs behind it. Will post some pics later at night to show to LEDs in action.

questions please

Is that a crossover between the two amps? Do you only have one battery? Could you get a shot of your distribution box? Finally do you use any kind of processors or just the head unit, amps, crossovers and speakers?

Yes, they are audio pipe crossovers from eBay. I'm using these so I can hook up multiple speakers to my t400.

Yes, I have the XS Power D3400 under the hood and no batteries in the trunk.

I'll post a picture up a bit later.

I currently don't have any sound processors but my get one in the future if I get more amps and speakers. For now, the deck and settings on the amp are good enough.

S8track16 04-22-2014 10:57 AM

Here is the distribution block, it's a Knukonceptz KNF-60. I have a run of 0 gauge (power and ground) going in, and 4 gauge going to the amps.

negolien 04-22-2014 11:47 AM

nice thanks for the help

Awesome possum thanks bud :p I think my only issue is finding a block that's one in and 3 out. I was also going to go 0 gauge power and ground and maybe 8 gauge for the 3 amps since they will only be 45/150 100/300 and 500/1000 I think 8 should be ok shouldn't it?

S8track16 04-22-2014 12:48 PM

8 gauge should be good enough, I had 8 gauge on my alpine mrp-m500 and it was fine.

You have any issue or thoughts on pressure from sub or subs beating on the cone of the 6x9's?

As a side note hahah my alts right on top of the motor should be super easy to swap out for the HO coming. You have any issue with yours or is yours still stock?

S8track16 04-29-2014 01:18 PM

The port is forward and close to being sealed from the trunk so there won't be an issue with the 6.5s.

I wish my alt was on top, I still have the stock one installed but I have the 250a singer alt waiting. Not sure if I want to attempt to change it myself.

negolien 04-29-2014 01:42 PM

Thanks wondering since my box is ported if I should consider leaving the 6x9 holes open and boxing the Kappa's. I wonder how much the pressure on the 6x9's might hurt them.
