Today I finished installing my super awesome Redline Tuning gas hood lift struts. If anyone is still using a prop rod and has $100 laying around I highly recommend them.

While I noticed it the other day the more times I go out to my car and see it the more that it irritates me...I came out of class the other day to find that some asshat keyed my drivers door...it is pretty deep, it is at least to the primer and it is a approximately 15 inch long scratch

what happened to it that made you have to ditch it?

I will stay with factory color...there were other things that need touched up if I ever get around to it anyways, but it bothers me that people think that they have to be that way

Even after a tune, new injectors, and reworking my exhaust it still isn't running right...I'm putting in a new o2 sensor today, but if that doesn't help then idk what I'm going to do.

Nice work!
Were you able to get the original hood opening angle (or slightly lower)? I ask because greater than that and high wind can be a problem. I want to do that on my other cars as well, what's the part#? It also frees up a little space in the pass. side front of engine compartment.

The better question is how hard is it to do it?

I was thinking about taking some OEM ones from the JY.

sleepyalero 04-26-2013 07:33 PM

looks fairly easy, especially if the car has the slots for prop rods, make it a little easier.

Thanks. The gas hood supports hold the hood a negligible amount lower than where the prop rod holds it. The hardware is pretty solid - as long as you follow the directions on how to fasten everything, it's not going anywhere.

Decent overall pic of the projectors though.

Matt these lights are freaking sexy! This was a great looking mod! What is the total cost for parts and labor for these?

added 8000k hid fog lights... just wish both low beams worked... one ballast doesn't work, ebay replacement doesn't work, probably going to end up buying a whole new kit...

I recommend hids from ddmtuning. I got my high and low beams and couldn't be more happy with the quality and they have a lifetime warranty on them I think. They might cost more but definitely worth it!

tw0123 04-27-2013 09:59 AM

I got a ddmtuning kit used from a member here and the one ballast is toast... plus their shipping charges are outrageous for me... bought a kit for my other alero and it was almost $50 just for shipping... i can buy 4 ebay kits cheaper than 1 from ddm unfortunately
