I haven't changed out the fusible link yet, as I was getting ready to do that last night some things came up and couldn't get it done. Either way, I did check the link, physically it looked and felt good. Did a continuity check on it and that turned up good. Checked the resistance and got .4 ohms. I'm still gonna swap it out but I don't know what else to do. Ill report back a little later tonight with the results.

if it has continuity and low resistance... i doubt its the problem.
..can't say what is... but i doubt its that. |
Mhm, all ya gotta do to check it is stretch it.. if it stretches like a ruber band it's bad, if not it should be good. If it was burned you would be no continuity from it at all, like a fuse.
I'm pretty much lost, all components in the circuit test out good, all the wires.. the alt.. ughhh. |

I'm stumped.. I took it out and had them check it in the store. Maybe he gave me the wrong one back again, I don't know. Like I said earlier, I'm sure the fusible link isn't bad from my testing and everything else so far checks out. Is there anyway something could be frying my alternator?

check every single wire to make sure its not damaged. do a ohms reading on the little wires and do a voltage drop check on your bigger wires such as the B+ on your battery to the stud on the alternator.check with your ohm meter set to dc voltage if the wire is good you should see approx 0.0V. if theres a break in the wire you would see battery voltage. make sure when you check your little wires you have both the alternator unplugged as well as your pcm. if ALL the wires check out good.... every single one. then you could either still ahve a bad alternator or your looking at a pcm probably. see if you can borrow somoens pcm to test it real quick.

a nother thing you could try is removing the "duty cycle" circuit and leeve everything else plugged in such as putting a jumper wire between the plug and the altinator on the "turn on signal" its either goign max out the alternator (which you will hear with engine strain) or it will do absolutly nothing.
