Swapped in the Intrigue instrument cluster.

Thanks to user Difflay for instructions to swap circuit boards to make it function.

Difflay posted that the circuit boards need to be swapped.
So, buy an Intrigue cluster (I bought a reman one off fleabay).
Take the black plastic cover off the back of the Intrigue cluster.
Carefully remove the printed circuit board - it's just a friction fit. Do NOT touch any of the circuits or solder points!
Disconnect your battery.
Remove the cluster from your Alero and remove the printed circuit board with the same procedure.
Install the circuit board from your Alero into the Intrigue gauges, being careful to line everything up before pressing together. Pay special attention to the PRND321 lights as they are on a separate daughter board.
Reassemble and install the new cluster into your Alero.
Reconnect your battery and test it out!

nice matt

Why'd you install the HID for fis? A 10 year old could do it lol

sleepyalero 05-22-2013 02:14 AM

cause i was there at the time, and he was a little confused.

Nas Escobar 05-22-2013 02:43 AM

Was it really that hard for him? Or was the kit screwy? I know my kit from DDM tuning was weird because of the way they ship them out (they attach a random wiring harness to the bulb, but tell you to clip it. I ended up using it as an extension instead)

sleepyalero 05-22-2013 03:52 AM

well hes got the euro headlights and last he checked the how to on here (been awhile) he thought it was splicing. the euro heads arent regular 9006 bulbs they changed to H7 so it was new to me but got it figured out after a min. but i told him it should be plug and play, etc.

its always nice to help someone out, im sure he could tackle it, but why not help when hes got it laying there and wanting it installed? lol

TDavis 05-22-2013 03:07 PM

Who da fk still helps people in the world? lol

Nas Escobar 05-22-2013 03:30 PM

Sleepy does because he's not about that Yolo bull shit.

sleepyalero 05-22-2013 03:44 PM

TDavis 05-22-2013 03:48 PM

I do alot of giving. The receiving is non-existent.

sleepyalero 05-22-2013 04:21 PM

maybe cause your a pr!ck. ;)

03Sleepr 05-22-2013 04:36 PM

Exactly...I go out of my way to help anyone who needs it and I have absolutely no trouble finding help whenever I need it...but I live in a small town where people aren't hippies or aholes.

I thought that the old how to said I had to cut and splice and run a harness? It has been years since I looked at a how to. I didn't realize that they were just plug and play. I was doing like 5 projects to my car that afternoon also so it was nice to have an extra set of hands to speed it up.

sleepyalero 05-22-2013 11:33 PM

you're welcome.

I miss DrFab and his HID rants.
