I have 18's there is no rubbing at all, as long as you get the rim size correct when ordering along with the offset and tire size, it wont rub.

Nope no rubbing at all. I went with Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires with the tire size 225/40ZR-18. They are the best tires that I have ever driven with bar none. They handle rain like it's 110 degrees and dry out and not raining at all. Have to wait for snow to come. Unfortunately it's my daily driver but I take the best care that I can for her.

IMO those are the best snow tire you can buy.
have them on both the Alero and my Mazda5.
never been stuck in the snow. this will be winter five for these tires on the alero and tread still looks great too.

What's the offset and width of your rim?

They are 18X7.5 I am guessing they are 40 offset but not sure. I got them off of Tirerack.com using the tire/wheel selector for my car. They don't sell them any more it seems but they have them listed as 18X7.5 5-100/115 ET40 VON VM2 on the order history.

I paid $3800 for a 03 Grand Am with 70k. That should tell you something... Wait it out man!! 125k isn't that worth it!! I know the stick is tempting though!

you are in the salt belt where they are cheaper...in the midwest that is still a little high but not really by much...my car has actually appreciated in value since I got it if that tells you anything about how they are priced around here...most people in the area that I know have them and if they are priced reasonably they don't stay on the lot long
