I took off my Nebraska plates and put on my new michigan plates. Front look ugly with the bare license plate holder full of holes. Oh well. Time for a gimmick plate to cover it up

My HID ballast went bad this morning, and I had just gotten paid. I ordered the VVME 55w 8000k kit since I have the extra money.
Edit: Lights came in today. I'll post pics in my build thread.

New blower motor resistor. Not sure how the factory one lasted 184,xxx.

zzyzzx 06-01-2015 03:37 PM

Drove it. Was my first time since sometime last fall. :O

Car did just fine in the garage with a battery tender (trickle charge) left on it overnight one night per week over the winter. Also added some PAG150 and a can of R134a to get the A/C to work. Will probably replace the compressor at some point when I'm 100% sure it's the problem (I do think it's the typical V5 belly leaker).

I tinted my tail lights with a few light coats of krylons custom lens crap from auto zone. it came out much better than i expected, i thought it was gonna look terrible

By the way, this is my first post! I decided i love my 190k alero that i've done plenty of mechanical work to. So i might as well start posting on these forums because they're dead as it is

I fixed my cassette adapter so it isn't constantly ejecting. I followed instructions that I found on the internet where they removed some parts. Made a big difference.

Like this, except I remove 3 little wheels.

Yeah i had problems with mine, so i just put a new head unit in, better sound quality i guess, and now i can use my aux cable for music :awesome:

tw0123 06-04-2015 01:20 PM

That is some great work Chris! I can sort of see what you meant about cutting the spoiler down to fit better before filling it in.... the blend on mine will be further down the side of the tail light due to how mine sits.... but at the same time, this is my first rodeo so I'll love it either way! :)

Oldsman 06-04-2015 06:01 PM

I am going for replica so lines and shapes are all based on the actual OSV. So whatever we have to do to match it, we do.

Redog 06-04-2015 08:28 PM

Took off my racing tires and factory wheels, and put my regular tires and wheels back on. :coolio:

tw0123 06-04-2015 09:13 PM

Scot, how much of a hollow does that leave the third brake light? It looks like it will be recessed about an inch.... is that an accurate guess or is it just an optical illusion the way thepicture is without the light in place?

Oldsman 06-04-2015 10:32 PM

It is recess some but not an inch. It's thicker on the top than bottom.

Papa Rad17 06-05-2015 01:55 AM

Wow Scott. wow. do I even want to know how many hours are in that?

tw0123 06-05-2015 02:24 PM

Thanks Scot! I figured it looked deeper than it is since the light isn't in there.... how close are you to paint?

And to think the last time I saw your car it looked like this. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Papa Rad17 06-06-2015 03:48 AM

Ordered some parts, finished piping the intake down to the bumper, and drove it around the block. Lights came on like a hub is going bad... great.
