I just got my alero last week and I am ready to mod. What should I do first??? I have no knowledge about any parts for the alero or anything. How many different body kits are there for the alero?
|
wow... first off... click "forums" then down to "how to" and click through a few pages. see what we've done so far... and see what you want to do, or tweak to make it your very own.
(you could do a nice ice-blue theme on the interior... blue and white led's.) your next stop should be on the "alero upgrade" page. its a few under forums, on the main page. every noob asks, "what should i do" but you leave out the most important parts.... what year/engine car do you have? what do you want to do, appearance, interior, exterior, performance? how much do you have to spend on it? -we have some members who do nearly everything themselves and stop at a few things (about 1k in mods) others who have put around 10k in personal mods (would be like 15k if a shop did it) its all a matter of what you consider yourself doing, and capable of doing.... |
There are only two good looking kits, one is forbidden from discussion and the other is nonexistent....soooo start with new wheels!

highly opinionated. i personally like the razzi the best. AAS is ok i guess if you like the ricey look. forbidden is def good. and OSV doesnt exist, and honestly probably never will http://www.razzi.com http://www.andysautosport.com and the "forbidden" kit isn't allow on this forum |
and see.. personally i like the more aggressive looking AAS (or Kombat kit) and don't like the forbidden kit...
its all just a matter of opinion. http://andysautosport.com sells razzi and AAS as well as a bunch of other stuff. |
Exterior mods:
well aas kato kombat kit is nice. if you want a few easy mods do a how to search on clearing the corners of your headlights. Also, if your willing to spend the money, wheels are definately a great addition to your alero and is probably the easiest thing you can do. Window tinting is also a good idea, but i would have this done professionally if you want a decent job. i rarely see a good tint job done non-professionally. Interior mods: if you have the time, popping the plastic pieces off of your dash and painting them is pretty easy. there should be plenty of how to's on that also. and seats are also a good addition if you have the money and they are easy. |

Oh yea, Well im only 18, and i do Everything on my own. (some will argue wether it's a good job or not, but hey I've had plenty comments and it all looks good and has lasted for as long as i've had the car. *didnt do my own tint) Just experiment with stuff. Definately clear headlight corners first, maybe paint interior, sound sytem, wheels and tires--those are all easy. Then try wiring up some neons, led's or cathodes. Good luck moddin and welcome :thumb: |
What is the forbidden kit???

sure.. say i like rice. not too caring about all that. la de da.. someone i'll never meet doesn't like my taste in things. woo hoo. :glare:
forbidden isn't the name of the kit. its actually called something else. there is a page somewhere in the aleromod library that explains what happened. Various admins had a little legal spat about it. (kinda childish, on their part, in my mind.. but whatever) |
here is the thread on why it is banned.
http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=1445 it is a decent kit but before you buy it be prepared to spend more money on fitment, painting. like with any fiberglass kit. but if your not a bodyman or have very close connections to a body shop then be prepared to spend a lot more in total with the other 2 kits compared to razzi. |

n00bs, MUST READ:

(forbidden kit isn't really called the forbidden kit. that's just a nickname for around here. /\ED where the /\ is an A is the name. ;) ) |
