Was the 99 model equipped with keyless entry

I found a booklet saying my car had keyless entry which I don't have. Yet, not sure but I thought it was newer models had this. If my car is equipped where can I get a replacement remote?

Midgear 08-20-2008 07:53 PM

I have no idea.. I was thinkin about going and getting some kind of alarm system and keyless entry / remote start put on it..

remote start is awesome when it's freezing outside lol

Vir.se 08-20-2008 07:55 PM

Give me your vin number ill tell you if you have it. If you do maybe you can go to the dealer and get fobs. I prefer viper systems though with remote start :)

i'd imagine Okla, gets into the 10s or 20s.... it depends on what you consider cold, vir. i'd imagine sweden gets much colder then the majority of the continental states...

Midgear 08-20-2008 08:22 PM

oklahoma at its worst? the worst ive seen is 4 inches of ice on everything in sight.. this includes tree branches, which snap and fall through peoples houses..

as far as temperature.. I think it was -11 or something close to that

Look on your Service Parts Identification label on the underside of your spare tire cover for the code "AU0"

meadus101 08-21-2008 01:49 AM

Minus 11?

Talk to me when you hit -40.

So how hard is it to Wire Remote Start?

Fahrenheit or Celsius?

meadus101 08-21-2008 02:28 AM

Celsius.

Though, It's not that far off if I understand how it works.

-32 is the equal point.

LOL -40 *IS* the equal point.. I just asked that because it was redundant.

My 1999 model does have one of those FOB things where I can press a button and the doors unlock, if that's what you mean.

Beholder88 08-22-2008 12:54 PM

Try it...

Just try remote starting this one...

AGT 08-22-2008 01:21 PM

^Your gonna need 6000 Cold Cranking Amps on that one haha

and Midgear is right Oklahoma gets crappy depending on how the Jetstream is doing.

-11F to 112F

Yes the 99 aleros have keyless entry, and I am pretty sure it was a standard feature. Mine has it, but was useless once i had the alarm/starter installed, the only good thing is they did not need the acuators for the keyless entry to wire into the alarm since it was there

Malix 08-22-2008 10:42 PM

What dealer can I see to get it?

undecided02 08-23-2008 07:35 AM

ya I have a 99 with keyless entry. I thought everyone did lol.nto be honest Ive never owned a car without keyless entry.

itsbmw 08-23-2008 08:47 AM

same^^. Anyway I'd go for a viper system, my cousin had one and it was awesome, it controlled his windows, remote started the truck and told him everything that was going on from his remote (it was the blue one with the LCD on it) it also had an aux controller on it, i think he said you could use that to turn something you wired up to it on.:coolio:
