Anyone have some websites or phone numbers for custom car jewelry for my car. Once its complete I want to shave off the stock jewelry and change it to custom jewelry. Any help or comments will be appreciated

Well, since 30 people have looked at this and no one has answered....I'll ask the question....

What the heck is car jewelry?

ptrudel 05-27-2004 10:21 AM

Maybe the chrome emblems? :huh?:

duesergirl 05-27-2004 01:20 PM

That's what I figured, since he was talking about shaving it off, but I'm not sure either. I've never heard it called that. A search on google didn't turn up anything either.

hes' talking about the chrome colored "olds logos"... ....... tell us what you're trying to do, then maybe i can come up with something for you

Dis guy be from da hood yo. ;)

But to shave off the emblems on the back, do a search on the site, its there. Its basically using a hair dryer and dental floss...

The front one can't be simply shaved... its indented into the bumper.. so you could pop off the silver piece, but theres still gonna be an indentation.

haha  .... .... honestly, i don't really see the point in removing the emblems, the only one i removed was the "oldsmobile" on the back, i still want people to know it's an alero, and i for sure don't want it to look like a honda....

Sportalero 05-27-2004 10:57 PM

From the way it sounds, it's like he's gonna get his car "platinum-ized" encrusted with rubies or something. He's definitely gonna have to explain this one.

jonez 05-28-2004 12:08 AM

If he is planning something crazy like that it better be garage kept, or they won't be on there for long.

BigJon34 05-28-2004 08:06 PM

In lowrider culture jewelry refers to the emblems. From the hood, yes. Dis guy? No. I'm capable of speaking correctly. I want to shave off the main emblem and replace it with a wine glass and the oldsmobile i'll change to my car's name. I'm not revealing that until it's complete.

jackal2000 05-29-2004 11:32 AM

i dont understand, your gonna have a wine glass as ur hood ornament?

dadirtybulldog 05-29-2004 12:05 PM

i don't understand... a wine glass???... if you want help in solving problems you must give up more info ;) ... and honestly, i'm pretty sure you won't have anybody on this site copy your idea of the wine glass thing, so don't you worry about that

Sportalero 05-29-2004 04:11 PM

If i ever had the very, very weird notion to place a wine glass emblem on a car, it would be on a car like a Bentley or a Jaguar. Ya know, at least something with class. Putting a wine glass on an Alero...........................that's more like admitting you drink your wine out of a box. If you really wanna go with a "wine" motif, skip the glass and just super glue a "wine cooler" bottle to your hood. It would make more sense. :D

Sportalero 06-04-2004 12:39 AM

I wasn't trying to diss his idea. It's just the idea..............................it just would have been a crime NOT to say anything. But BigJon, it's your car, man. It's just weird to me cuz i'm from the hood too, and never heard of that one. Must not be a South then.

Maybe that's the point, sport. And good looking out, Steve.

Pretty much its like this. My car's name is "Red Red Wine". It's got House of Kolor Kandy Magenta sprayed on her body (no kit yet). Just got it painted. Next is 17in. Arelli Assassyns, and I'm paying my buddy to learn airbrush to get a mural of my girlfriend done on the hood. He's a great artist of many different mediums and his airbrush is almost near perfect. Pin stripes will complete the project. I ride low and slow, and this is my first euro. The oldsmobile emblem on the bottom right part of the trunk will read "RedRedWine" as soon as I find a place to do it. And I still want the wineglass as an emblem. I do not think I'll look like an alcoholic. Most people with knowledge of the song will appreciate the sentimental tone of the car. Its a metaphor for how working on my car helps me forget about the problems in life. Women, work, all that poop. I stopped coming to the forum for a minute because I didn't think I could get any help from folks who think I'm an idiot. And since all I do is read your forum at work all day, I might as well just explain and hope someone can help. Just for clarification this is all going to be done on the trunk of the car. Not the front. The wine glass is not a hood ornament. It's just an emblem image. Not an actual glass.

I found this place online

Says ball park would be 350 for one. I'll probably spend more around 900 on it to be honest. The sizes I'll need may cost more. Six to eight weeks sounds great. I could also do it myself and get it chrome dipped. But what material is easy to work and carve but wont burn or melt if dipped. I heard of a place that has perfected dipping plastic in chrome. Doing it myself may be a better option. Suggestions that dont include pointing a finger while laughing will be great.
