Got my new comp ported 3500 upper and 65mm throttlebody, still working on proper length bolts since i have 1/2in. TCE intake spacers. i'm switching to new style MAP sensor and i have to setup a new adapter for my fuel pressure gauge.

my 62mm throttlebody and ported 3400 upper intake will be up for sale when the swap is complete.

Post pics and progress for us?

Let us know how it is. Heard the 3500 UIM powerband is far wider and lower then that of the 3400 because of plenum volume. Let us know if such is the case!

install complete after 6 hrs, and a couple trips to the parts store for minor stuff. i had to remove some extra aluminum, i had to grind away the casting flash on the front side of the throttle body neck. i run an aeroquip fuel pressure regulator that is larger than the normal ones, i MIGHT be able to fit a hair between the neck and the regulator, i was also able to mount my fuel pressure gauge to the regulator with this upper intake, i couldnt with the 3400 upper. i also changed to the new style map sensor, which looks much cleaner.

Looks good man ... so nice and clean! That 65mm TCE Billet TB looks great too.

jabartram 03-20-2011 12:50 AM

the intake an t/b i have for sale are pictured here, but i was mistaken, the t/b is 62mm and the intake is ported to 63mm to match it, but the runners are not ported they are still stock runners.

Taken her for a ride yet? How does it feel?
Looks very nice and clean by the way!

a.graham52 06-20-2011 09:23 PM

well i assumed if i would like to know... so would other people.

jabartram 06-20-2011 11:06 PM

im working on a maf tune right now, my fuel mileage has dropped and she likes to hunt/surge at idle, full throttle top end power is strong, low end needs maf tuned i still have alot of work to do. when i start her up cold there is a large volume of air being pulled in, sounds like a huge vacuum cleaner for few seconds. i dont know if you can see in the pictures but i also have 3/4 inch intake spacers between the upper and lower which adds runner length.

kwhauck 12-07-2011 06:55 PM

So did you get a pigtail adapter for the 3500 sensor or just make one? Curious....

Hellfire5670 12-07-2011 08:33 PM
