Adding to the go fast....

Ordered a set of Comp Cams 1.6 Magnum Roller Rockers today! ahhhh yea, can't wait to get em and see how it does. Plan on a track day as soon as I get them in. Should have them by Tuesday I think.

Ok, I now return you to your regularly scheduled Friday night cruise

Nice!!

Let me know how you like them and what kind of times you do (better or worse) with them in the car! :usa:

MMGT1 07-22-2011 06:20 PM

Should be nice, the heads are cleared for up to .560 lift and with these in I'll be at .599... lol I bought a new set of roller lifters today at work as well. Going to have the covers off so may as well do both while Im in there I figure

mfuller 07-22-2011 08:19 PM

I assume this is what you ordered:

I don't know if they will fit with our splayed valves - I think the trunions are too wide. I hope I'm wrong though. Keep us posted please.
How are you figuring .599 lift? You know factory rocker arms are 1.6:1 ratio, yes?

MMGT1 07-22-2011 08:58 PM

Nope, not those. I called comp cams before I ordered them and they told me to get these. And yes, I understood that the cam was rated at .560 with 1.6 roller rockers and the cam is rated .556 without. Even if the factories are, Ill still be glad I got them with 210K in the stock ones. Peace of mind I guess Ill have to tell myself. Im trying to make sure the engine is ready for the charger more than anything, but dam, I have to look into that.

mfuller 07-22-2011 09:09 PM

I think you may be taking a step backwards with those. You are giving up a rollerized trunion for a roller tip - if you look at low speed footage of a valve being actuated, you'll see that even with a roller tip, it basically slides over the valvestem tip. Those rocker arms were meant for the Gen 1 motors with iron heads and straight valves.

WhiteV6 07-22-2011 09:23 PM

Step backwards plus now you need guideplates and hardened pushrods. These offer no extra lift than what you had.

Those fit my Gen 2 3.1.

Redog 07-22-2011 09:37 PM

Oh those were the ones you ordered?

Ben stopped me from buying them about a year ago. I thought you found something else.

Return them ;)

MMGT1 07-22-2011 09:44 PM

Holy hell thanks for seeing that, I din't even notice it... f##% me, lol I just got off the phone with Summit again and they did not ship them yet! Close call man, thanks for seeing that. At least it was their guy that made the mistake if they had shipped. They are going to look into what is really available for me and call me on Monday. I think I owe you a coffee friend, you just saved me about 100 bucks in shipping

cammed3x00 07-23-2011 09:00 PM

there is not any rockers that drop in with no modification that offer an advantage over stock that im aware of

MMGT1 07-23-2011 10:13 PM

This is what is there now, 220K on them. They are the only origional parts of the origional engine actually.... lol

JLw7123 07-23-2011 10:34 PM

wow they lasted that long. I replaced mine at 120K. i thinking of buying some new rockers for my engine build.

cammed3x00 07-24-2011 09:44 PM

MMGT1 07-24-2011 09:57 PM
