If Only ...

If Only the Alero was not a lead sled and weighed 3000 + ,it would be kick ass even more. Imagion if the Alero was like 2500 pounds, it would fly. Look at the Grand Nationals, they weighed about 2800 pounds and their 6 cylinder was ballsie. I was talking to a guy at the track that has a Firebird and he was amazed at how much the Alero Weighs. What idiot created the Alero, at it's current weight? Jeez. I know I am venting like a PMSing school girl, but still. Our cars would be easy 14's stock cars if they where not massive fat asses! Thoughts?

GN were also turbo'd 3800

if u wanna go fast that bad, why not get a bike or somethin with v8? theres really no sence in making something something its not.

SweetNLow 07-18-2006 12:19 PM

cherrington17 07-18-2006 12:43 PM

acold7dusta 07-18-2006 12:45 PM

so much for tryin to be nice lol

Spilner521 07-18-2006 01:20 PM

You can still make heavy cars fast. It just takes a little more power. Besides, the Alero isn't that heavy for it's size. It isn't considered a compact car, it's more a midsize, so in that respect, 3000lbs. isn't all that bad. Plus, with the Ecotec it's 2900lbs. It can be a fast car depending on what you decide to do with the engine.

Orion 07-18-2006 01:21 PM

Not everyone has a 2.4 Turbo ;) lol Spilner

projectalero 07-18-2006 03:32 PM

Im not tryin to talk crap here but, orion did u get smoked by a ricer at the track? I understand the alero is a slightly heavy car, but u know big girls need love too. Put ur car on a diet and it should do ok. I noticed on your other posts that you have a considerable amount of mods on your car. Keep the work up or you can always get a sportscar. Just a thought.

Orion 07-18-2006 04:33 PM

I was crushing this car off the line through first, I hit second (I have an automatic) and even in my video u can hear my power drop. And then i saw this car walk by me. a Neon! with like no work done. He did a 15.3

Orion 07-18-2006 04:34 PM

I love my Alero in first, its after first that sucks balls lol

IRONDOG442 07-18-2006 04:40 PM

a 1,000 hp motor weighs 800 pounds so your alero is back to a lead sled again!

Orion 07-18-2006 04:42 PM

haha yes it is

BlackJack 07-18-2006 07:54 PM

Anyone could with a little work and some money. Trust me I don't have tons of money...I barely make it paycheck to paycheck.

All I did was research everything extensively until I knew everything there is to know about turbos. Then saved some money here and there and took a few months to piece everything together and then did all the work myself.

Orion 07-19-2006 12:39 PM

Good Work ;)

The Alero is a compact. It's 5-cubic feet of interior volume from being a mid-size. The Aurora and Intrigue are mid-size.

Redog 07-20-2006 03:48 AM

gee if my car lost weight low 14's :p

Yeah but I'm talking like Civic, Celica, RSX compact...actual compact cars. Those are the cars that weigh between 2400-2700 pounds. I would consider the Alero a small mid-size car, the Intrigue a normal mid-size, and the Aurora a large mid-size/small full-size.

Cliff8928 07-21-2006 03:24 AM

There's only 4 cubic feet of interior space difference between a Civic (101ft^3) and an Alero (105ft^3). The RSX (97ft^3) and Celica (95ft^3) are sub-compact.

kwhauck 07-21-2006 01:56 PM

i'm like 3200 race weight, and that is will all the supercharger and crap.....

Damn I thought the Aurora was a full

Alero2k4 07-22-2006 04:47 PM

Look up how much a BMW Z3 wieghs. For how small that car is, I sure thought it would weigh less...wow what a pointless thread.
