I have to say my favorite brand ive owned 2 amps is Memphis.....With Phoenix Gold in a close 2nd....and RF in 3rd.
I have had almost every brand of amp But right now the best bang for your buck I would have to say ia audiobahn they go tthe sound and the look..
i'd have to say my phoenix gold amps are the best ive used so far
I am currently running 3 kicker amps and they work good. So i would have to say kicker
for me its Alpine, the have the look, and they are sooooo clean sounding, and the monoblocks hit verry verry hard,Alpines arent really a spl amp but unparalelled for Sq IMO.

R.F. All the time

Fosgate and Orion!
I really like the old Soundstreams, they were so underrated. recently ive been hearing great things about Concept. I have one of there subs and its very tight! My buddy is an installer and they use alot of them, he says they are also inderrated. But the good old PG's are always reliable.
Soundstream and the old PPI amps
not to mention the old Orion's and Lanzars |
I'm using Kenwoods now.
I've been trying to run my Crunch into the ground for over 2 and a half years now.
It's a great amp for the money. If you don't want to spend a lot of money then I'd say Audiobahn or Crunch is the way to go. |

i have used orion, fosgate, great amps, now iam running 2 power acoustik amps...
No entry for Alpine? I know alot of people think its just a name, but alpine monoblocs are rediculous. Amazing amps for the price. Ratings don't begin to tell the story...
Yeah where's the mention of Alpine? Look and sound great.
All I can say is that you forgot about the Lanzar Opti Series.
In other cars I've had different amps but fosgates have never let me down so they get my vote. If they are reading this I like free stuff hint ;)
I'd have to say the best amp I've had so far is my Phoenix Gold.
Pyramid ROCKS!!!!!!!
:D J/K.....I've had a kenwood amp and an audiobahn amp and I've gotta say the audiobahn bumps HARD :D |
I allmost didnt see that jk... and allmost went into a fit of rage, n was gunna byotch you out for sayin piramyd was good  ... *cough*crap*cough*
:D :P |
I think that the opinion of amps is going to be determined by the use. If you want a sub hooked up to it then Rockfords and MTX are pretty good for raw power versus price and reliability. If you are going for mids and highs then you deffinately want something above par like Alpine, Eclipse, and probably the holy grail of clean wattage ADS. I have used everything from California (never again) to ADS. All of my mids and highs were hooked up to Eclipse 3322 amps and delivered the best mids I had heard. The highs were almost too harsh. The ADS did a excellent job all the way around here. The problem with both of these are the cost. It is a waste to put anything of that caliber for bass. There would be no harmonic difference between them and a less efficient amp. That is where I would suggest rockford. The best way to answer the question is to first ask yourself how it will be used and then start to compare.
I agree it depends on application.
For power I have only used MTX, and Rockford. The MTX i had for a long time and i played it loud for long periods of time, in two different cars. I had no problems with it. I was very happy with it. |
1) American Bass
2) US Amps 3) PPI 4) Massive ...All the real deal and will blow your mind. (or at least your eardrums) |
