So I finally got my SpringTech Springs in today. I know others on here have them but I never saw a pic of them on a '03 2 Door. I must say they look really nice. The front end dropped nicely and has about a 1 inch gap between the tire and the wheel well. The rear however really dropped down (2 door alero's seem to have really high ass ends) and has about a 1/2-1 inch gap between the tire and the wheel well.

I also noticed the ride quality isn't that bad, not much worse then the stock GX springs. I'll try to get some pics up

Please do, put some pics up.

All of 'em do, but I think it looks exaggerated on the 2 doors because the car looks shorter in length.

And I know...all of the exterior dimensions are THE SAME, so it's sort of an illusion...

moved to appearance

Yeah, pics will be up once I can get a digital cam from my buddy

BigJon34 04-01-2004 08:20 PM

Yeah tell your boy to hurry up! Curious to see. How does it ride? What size tires do you have? Im going to take a couple hundred out of my next two checks to buy some springs. And I'm still debating between spring tech and eibach.

Anybody have eibachs installed?

MikeSS 04-02-2004 08:59 PM

Rides not to bad, makes a bit of noise over really rough roads, but the handling is super smooth.... like little to no body roll now.

I have the crappy 215/60R15 but I'll have either 225/40 17 or 18's by the june meeting

`2000redalero 04-03-2004 06:36 PM

I still can't decide between Spring Tech or Eibach, anyone else with input?

OLDSskool 04-03-2004 07:15 PM

^^ Eibach are a waste of money.. they barely lower your car at all... you would be lucky to drop 1 inch on Eibach.. go with SpringTech or Intraxx for a drop.. or if you want to keep the "rake" look go with H&R

Congrats on the springs! Just curious, where do you here the noise from over bumps? Front or rear or both?.

MikeSS 04-04-2004 02:05 PM

Mostly back, but there is less noise each day, maybe they are settling. My mechanic said it is cause I still have the longer stock struts, but it really isn't bad at all. It is just on really big bumps, only at slower speeds (Gerrad Street in Toronto is the worst)

MikeSS 04-04-2004 03:31 PM

Here they are

kwhauck 04-04-2004 08:25 PM

good comparative pics, oldskool, what do you have, eibach?

OLDSskool 04-04-2004 08:39 PM

99 aleroboy.. i dont have springs as of yet.. give me a month and my car will look a lot different ;)

Final-Reality 04-04-2004 08:50 PM

I was gonna say... wow your car looks like it's 2" taller

MikeSS 04-04-2004 08:54 PM

My car used to be 1-2 inches higher then OLDSskool's car before, I had like a monster truck alero

alero168 04-04-2004 10:15 PM

how much did those cost you and from where?

oldsskool what did you mean by "rake" look

OLDSskool 04-04-2004 10:26 PM

"rake" look is what people use to refer to the front being lower than the back... so its got a "rake" to it...

MikeSS 04-05-2004 07:23 PM

Cost like $129 US from Ebay. Springtech sells 'em right off there

I go it shipped to Canada for a total of $240 Canadian

ptrudel 04-05-2004 07:27 PM

^^cost me the exact same thing shipped up to ontario too....i get sum noise in the front actually...nothing horrible tho...gotta love the drop they give for the money

MikeSS 04-05-2004 07:32 PM

LOL, I'm in Ontario too, guess that makes sense. I get a bit of noise from the front too, but same thing, nothing horrible. My mechanic said it had to do with my stock long sturts. Once I wear them out, I'll get smaller ones

scotttherock 04-06-2004 09:33 AM

hey i wanna get these springtech springs but someone said to get their struts too otherwise it rides like a truck and is a rough ride...i checked their site www.suspensionmax.com and no struts came up for our vehicle...where do you get their struts, and how hard is the installation of everything?

ptrudel 04-06-2004 02:48 PM

on stock struts its actually not that bad...it is rougher then stock, but i mean, what can u expect? i was really happy with the ride because i find it doesn't ride like a truck at all...

and yeah i'm gonna run stock struts till they wear out too...i'm a lil short on cash now cuz of the setup i bought...

scotttherock 04-06-2004 05:01 PM

yeah i have like the same look as you 2000 olds,,,i have the 2 door blk alero with tints and chrome rims kinda similar to u...and the drop on your car looks soooo much better especially in the back then what my car loooks like where it looks like it has a hump back or something...it looks like such a drastic change with the springs but if i just get the springs and not new struts am i gonna hear weird noises coming from the back like some people say? and ne1 have an idea on how much installation would cost?

ptrudel 04-06-2004 05:32 PM

well it's normal that u'll have weird noises cuz the springs are gonna shift around till they set...and to get installed it cost me 126$CND(shop that charged $55/hour) but u could do it urself if u look in the how to section there's a detailed topic there...and thanx for the props too

CocoaAlero 04-06-2004 06:33 PM

I get my noises from the rear, doesn't do it over big bumps. Just on washboard like surfaces. I hope it's just the struts in back and not anything else.

MikeSS 04-06-2004 08:53 PM

I get those noises on washboard surfaces too. I think it is ok, my mechanic said so, and I trust him (yeah I know, a scary idea)

jjkool 04-10-2004 03:10 AM

Just read form, sounds great...I'm also in Toronto, from the sounds of it we could have done a group buy :P Anyone else looking for these springs in the next month? Let me know!!
Just got the before the winter and its time to start! Put the tints on today only 35s tho! :D
