Gauging Interest: Dampening Group buy
 

After chatting with ryan a while ago... he said something about www.secondskinaudio.com doing group buy deals on their damplifier mat.

I have no formal info on this, but i'm just wondering how many others might be interested in getting some.

its been as low as $1 per foot, apparently....

id go for that :) i need some lmao, mostly my plate rattles like well lols really bad i need to stuff somethin behind it, and yes i have 4 bolts in it

I think that would be a good idea, I'm not one for buying stuff of the net but if the total cost including shipping comes up cheaper then what it would cost to go to best buy and buy Dynamat stuff I would be in.

yea i went to circuit city, they wanted 33$ for a piece of dyno to go behind my license plate, i was like wow? expensive much? it was actully cheaper to get a square 5 by 5 or somethin cant remember the size? but it was for our front speakers and for 2 of em in a package it was 18$ i was like wtf?

yea no wounder why circuit city is goin out of buisness, their larger pieces of dyno is cheaper then the smaller pieces, i was like wtf? i was gonna buy but then this roostery mofo from their autodeparment started stalkin me (im 17 probly thought i was gonna steal) but ive had problems with him tryin to screw me outta money before. salesmen tend to be that way when I went buy my amp I wanted JBL like my sub but they kept trying to get me to buy Alpine, but in the end I still bought a JBL amp now every time I go to best buy I have to know exactly what it is I'm looking for cause neither of the salesmen that were there that day will have anything to do with me.

count me in for about 50 to 100 sq ft, the plan for the impala is eventually do the entire car, want it to be noise free inside and great sound from the 5.1 suround sound I am installing (true suround sound) .

yea, he tried tellin me i needed 100$ whire kit, then he said he couldnt sell me a CD player with this ipod attachment cuz i wasnt getting it installed by them, when on their website they said the special was the CD player with free ipod cord and instalation, yea then he reported my debt card stolen too. lmao. but if it was 1$ a sq ft, id buy about 200$ worth? lols :)

Last time I wanted Second Skin Damplifier ANT told me he would knock 20% off the price if I ordered direct...

The pricing for Second Skin is absolutely insane. I know I mentioned it to you, but I havent check prices in some time. $3-$2.25 a sq ft... F that.

For what its worth at this point Im going to try a few alternatives...

yea drop me back to 100 sq ft, im in it if its for around 1$ my dad told me he doesnt want his truck done lols

i'm running fatmat, and so far it has done well. 50 sq.ft. did my trunk lid, trunk(including spare tire well) under rear seat and both front doors fully skinned.

doing the trunk helped immensely, i had alot of road noise and exhaust noise, had the run the system at higher volumes to drown it out, after the fatmat my car is much quieter system is much cleaner sounding, worth every hour and every penny.

50ft did all that?

if thats the case, i think we all need to adjust our numbers. :lol:


with the link ryan posted.. i'm just afraid of the adhesion problems fatmat might have with the freak heat and common cold we get here, year around. dark red car parked outside sealed up in the summer + subzero some nights in the winter...

i think the glue would break free after not too long.

yea lmao, i was estimating maybe 180 for the whole car, then again its my first time so i bet ill have ALOT of scraps and uhm ooppsies lols?

ive had a cheaper dampener that my brother sent me the extra he had that has been on my trunk lid for well over a year and has never even come loose, just use the roller and wipe all the dirt off, depending on where you are putting it most will be lying down anyways and held down by the weight of other things like the back seat.

ok that sounds so simple i can do it :) lols, hopefully, cuz i dont know shit, my mom did used to illegally dragrace, but she wont help me >.< she says its for my own good? So sadly i gotta learn on my own :)

install it in smaller pieces, instead of the big pieces it comes packed in. and be prepared to get dirty.

If we can get decent stuff for $1/sqft I suppose I'll got for 100.. my trunk rattles like you wouldn't believe!

I don't really care I just don't wanna rattle like all the other kids in town so 100 sq ft is all I will need
