HazMatt24 03-26-2009 12:16 PM

cliffordwoeller 03-26-2009 12:31 PM

god that thing is beastly and expensive, that could handle a few jackhammer subs eh ?

lonnie 03-26-2009 12:36 PM

You gotta love I eloquently they put this...it gets you excited!

"Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It is stored in the form of potential. As the potential energy increases your heart surges, adrenaline rushes and your body braces in anticipation. The energy demands to be released. When you choose to release the potential, is now up to you."

...but you can release the same amount of energy with a good porn and a bottle of jergens....

....and a hell of allot cheaper!

Ryan from Ohio 03-26-2009 12:40 PM

$1.67 per watt.

Thats a very expensive amp. Thats more than what a watt cost back in mid 90's. Maybe the high end stuff fetched about that.

Now days a watt is cheaper than a $5 hooker on Bronson Avenue...

co-sign. I don't even like running 12's because I grew up and don't just listen to rap anymore, not that any of the new stuff is worth listening to anyway. 10's give a better response when listening to different types of music.

not to mention size for power ratio. you can get something that pounds alot harder takes up alot less room, and is probably cheaper.

HazMatt24 03-26-2009 02:02 PM

my trunk is getting redone soon. False wall put in so I'll probably run two 10's, maybe 3

MattismodderX 03-26-2009 02:11 PM

the amp also weighs 180lbs. rooofl

I put in a wall, and when ever I open my trunk people ask me where's the amp? I was still able to use my 12's but trunk space is severly limited.

you got any pics? My idea is to make it so the wall can be opened like on hinges so I can keep like my jumper cables and crap behind it out of sight

No I don't but Ryan or cherry should have some...all my pics went when my hard drive crashed, but I don't know if you have enough room to put a hinge on it unless you take your box out to get to it.

HazMatt24 03-26-2009 03:00 PM

just a thought I was kicking around. If the hinge won't work I guess I can always go through the seats and hide shit in there

Yeah I originally wanted to hide everything (subs, amp) behind the wall but it just wouldn't leave any room for anything else, and god forbid I need the spare tire. I have my amp, crossover, and cap, behind my wall. I love it, and the carpet I got pretty much matches the trunk to a T. It is a good little place to hide stuff though, and I keep my seat latches up and out of the way, so know one can see how to pull my seat down.

cherrington17 03-26-2009 03:15 PM

a hinge MIGHT work... but if you have subs and stuff... thats going to rattle something fierce.

cliffordwoeller 03-26-2009 03:27 PM

still there is no way i think you could sucessfully put that bad boy in a ho

cherrington17 03-26-2009 03:31 PM

of course you could!

1) remove backseats
2) drop amp where seats were
3) secure w/ seatbelts.
4) have a beer.

lonnie 03-26-2009 03:56 PM

I think he still wants his seats, and with any type of subs...just not going to make for a great day the one time you have to get to your spare. Is it possible to do hell yeah...you could put a smaller door on the wall opposite side of the sub if you are running one.

Ryan from Ohio 03-26-2009 04:06 PM

Amp worth 4x's as much as the car...lol

Lonnie, I think he's talking about that amp not the wall. I was thinking about taking the box I have now and building the wall around it so that when it's all done it it looks like one solid piece

cherrington17 03-26-2009 04:30 PM

on a serious point... that amp... produces 20hp of power.

like i said... how the HELL do you power that!?

Nate's Alero 03-26-2009 04:52 PM

I know the guy that is pushing 20K on youtube, has 4 alternators lolool

HazMatt24 03-26-2009 05:06 PM

did you notice with that amp it's designed so you can "strap" two of them together? If only Doc Brown had a couple of these to power the flux capacitor

Silentalero 03-26-2009 09:54 PM

weakness. Wait a few days and I'll post up the hummer we're finishing up at the shop ;)

Los Angeles of course.

That amps an epic fail anyhow. Its publicity... How manys been built in total... Ive heard like 31. And Steve Meade/Chicken has two of them I guess... Some guy.douche bag tried to scan on www.caraudio.com selling one of these using said pictures...

Nate's Alero 03-27-2009 08:02 AM

Steve meade has quite the setup.....

I'm unimpressed then, I'm a glutonous American and want things that are cool but totally impractical.

cliffordwoeller 03-27-2009 12:43 PM

well I guess you could say that its impractical for you, however for steve its a great publicity tool for him and his business

Fi-Alero 03-27-2009 11:51 PM

That amp is expensive, but it is crazy efficient. It only draws less than 300amps of current.

It is still too pricey, though. Id run one DD-Z off of it if I ever got one.

Our van that we are finishing up is LOUD. I need to post pics of it soon.

GA_turbo 03-28-2009 01:17 AM

Ive been watching these since they came out but cant think of a way to really use it, its tooooo much.

What's sad is our van does about the same score at the same frequency with only 8k rms

AleroDrime 04-04-2009 09:44 PM

instead of two or 3 12's y not 2 10s and a 12 or 15 mounted kinda oOo in the trunk
