2 LEDs IN!!
Well I finally got 2 replacement 194 bulbs, Blue LEDs. I bought the eurolight ones at Canadian tire. Now i wondering... where should i put them...
I'd want to change all of them, but I only have 2 for now so ... any ideas of where it would look best? |
i.... unfortunately, can't help ya here.
i do custom replacement... not direct. i have no idea where 194s fit. |
LOL your a king of custom ... i admire you ... i m gonna be starting my custom work this summer ( i m off al summer for parental leave :D)

^ indeed it does, and it looks really good with blue ones. ;)
|
or the footwell lights.
|
footwells i want to put cathodes and a LED swith so i think ill go with the PRND123 ...
Sound like a good idea and is the Center area behind ash tray a 194 bulb? |
is the trunk interior light a 194, im thinking it probably is, easy spot, big difference
|
no the one in the cubby area is not, thats a tiny little shit, break it and pull it out, odnt bother with a light there, if you really want one do a led later but for now ditch it, i hated that thing, the interiors got nice green lights to the buttons adn that yellow effer right in the center eww
|
Agreed lol
|
I checked my automatic shifter, i found the pin to pry out...but i don't get how to pull it out and how to get to the bulb under the PRND123...
|
on the front of your shifter the is a u-shaped pin. pry it out with a flat blade screwdriver all the way then pull up on your shifter, it'll come off. then just get your finger under the edge of the bottom plasic peice and pull it up. I put led's in mine under there and it looks cool.
|
Wow thanx!!!
i m gonna do that later today and post pics |
Heres before
![]() ![]() And heres after ![]() ![]() I took photos of every step to di this so i might write up a How-to if it interests anyone... |
im very interested actually. i wanted to put red ones in my dash and the shifter thing.
|
Looks good...almost makes me want to do mine.
|
theres a light under the prnd321 hmmmm. sounds like it's time to rip apart my shifter area to change it.

Or do it like mine, blue and then red behind the redline and behind the gas gauge, becasue then you get this coloring aaand, as the needle goes up farther it goes from blue to red.

ew.
hotspot central. man i'm glad i did these myself instead of this way.... |
what do you mean hot spot, can my LEDs damage something???
|
NO!!! a "hot spot" literally means that light is being focused at one place more than giving an ambience of glow all over the place.
-Smurf- |
I see, and i guess i cant fix that ???
|
depends on the lights you got.
maybe... maybe not. |
Kevin1114,
You need to talk to Cherry about anything LED related. He is the KING of LED...Just ask him how many LED's he has in his third brake light...("like 80"). HAHAHHA, LMAO -Smurf- |
hey hey hey... only 65.
....and 25 in my dome light..... 24 in each floor area.... :glare:  |
HOLY POOP, batman!
I only have 3" LED strip in my dome light and that works just fine. I ain't blind and have to light up the whole damn block, in order to see where to get into my car.LOL -Smurf- |
that doesn't include my vents, doors, gauges or center console.
|
that guage lighting was led and not 194 right?
|
Alero,
All of his lights are LED. If it were up to Cherry, he would change the Sun to LED. -Smurf- |
i meant what kevin did, i know hes the king of led and would only go with leds
|
I bought 194 replacements, the bottum is the same as original bulb but it has 2 LEDs at the top

i posted that a WHILE ago. things are a little different... but you get the general idea. (will be different again soon) Quote:
194 is just the size. type of bulb varies. you CAN get leds with the 194 socket on them.... if your lazy. |

I like the guages, but I have reversglow guages (blue) . But I have red needles. If I remember the 194's fit 4 gauge bulbs, shifter, and outer turn signals. May also fit glovebox and licence plate but doubt it and never checked or cared.

doing blue reverse Glow, and red or orange needles |
Cherry,
I agree, Hotspot central. I like the look of the blue LED's over the stock, however would like to have it without the hotspots. How would you best eliminate the hotspots? Would sanding the tips be better? Even (sanding)on flat tip LED's? -Smurf- |
smurf... check the link lonnie posted... then look at the "led" how to's linked, in the link, in my sig.
mine have zero hot spots. |
Cherry,
I have seen your interior too many times to count. LOL I was just asking for reference. Tomorrow I plan on TRYING to clear my headlights and tthen onto researching the LED gauages. I am not as technologically gifted as you and have no clue nor patience to sit down with a soldering iron and create the things you have. I was just wondering how to eliminate the hotspots on bulbs already bought in the 194 base. Thanks, -Smurf- |
