(kindof)New Member From Indiana

Hi all, My name's Trenton and I'm from a small town none of you have probably heard of(The Beef House is normally what the town is identified with, its a restaurant with the best rolls on the planet, not my words, literally everyone who eats there comments on the rolls. And if you go to any birthday party in the area, the rolls will find there way there and will immediately be swiped like an injured animal on the Savannah. It gets kind of annoying) on the west side of Indiana.

I am a high school senior and am trying to save up for college (Rose-Hulman if any of you have heard of it)so i don't have much money, and on top of that i only know basics about car mechanics so im very cautious about major mods. the only thing i have done so far is put new speakers in the the back (just because the stock ones were dead when i got it) they are sony xplodes 6x4, i know they are not the best but i am happy about them

Now about my Alero, its a 2001 GLS 3400 V6 with 85,3xx Miles on it, and it has all of the features except for the sunroof :( . I got if for Christmas last year( I picked it out) Her name is Ninja, i dont exactly know why i just said "go Ninja" once and it stuck. Here are some pictures of her.

did you really just spend a third of your intro talking about rolls???

i'd expect that from nate... but geeze.

welcome... you'll fit right in w/ the nut cases here. And are you sure the speakers in the back aren't 6x9?

Fuzzyspudkiss 11-11-2009 09:42 PM

i know, but if you lived around here most of conversations eventually end up going to rolls... like i said small town...

TheEdgeofSanity 11-12-2009 05:11 PM

welcome! I love those rims! take good care of the car and It'll take care of you. They're safe and pretty reliable cars. Yeah, they have regular problems but with the low(er) miles on yours, you have plenty of time to care for it so you don't encounter those problems down the road.

Thanks for the great welcome guys:coolio: . I really liked the second picture too.

I would like to tint the windows, I think that black tint with the silver car would look really cool...but my dad is worried about me being pulled over more because of them...and it is technically his car...I've almost got him convinced to let me get them though, i mean if i'm not doing anything illegal why should i be worried.;)

Cashdollar2009 11-12-2009 10:43 PM

Looks like you put some grill-mesh in front of your foglights too? Looks good! And... welcome!

Yeah they are 6x9s it was a typo :( ...a little bit of a late response to that question...

I put the grill mesh on about 2 months ago, it seemed like a cheap mod that would add a different look to my appearance. (at least around here, there are only 3 or 4 aleros in my area)

cavaliers60 11-12-2009 11:35 PM

Welcome! Nice to have another Hoosier on here. :) I'm south-west Indiana.

why should you be worried? because i've never done anything illegal in my alero (except for the night where i got breathalyzed.. but that was long afterwards) and i got nailed for tinting.

get your state legal limit, and don't worry about it. you can and WILL get a ticket for illegal tinting.

Fuzzyspudkiss 11-13-2009 03:41 PM

i would definitely not exceed the legal limit, i think its 35% in Indiana. I wouldn't do it myself (ive heard too many horror stories and i dont really trust myself to do it), so i would hope that the business that i choose to take it too would know the limit...but i would look up the laws in Indiana before i take it to get tinted.

HazMatt24 11-13-2009 03:46 PM

silver w/tint

and another. Forgive the shrubbery, this was right after we had a hurricane come through PHX

Fuzzyspudkiss 11-13-2009 03:57 PM

thanks for the pictures HazMatt, I tried to photoshop tinted windows on my car but a real example really helps.

Do you happen to know what percent tint it is?
