This is a thread to post your best times when you race. I just want to know who is doing autox this year.

me, not till june, still tuning the new intake setup.

ill post times for jan. i ran almost the same numbers in feb.

1/4 mile here and not a full season anyway

Did anyone else notice that someone is autocrossing in a FORD PINTO?

i was laughing more at his brother's??? sw2

my son, and he does well in it for 17 yrs old and stock. we are working on custom parts for it, and i bet you'd be pissed if he out ran your honda with it, the car is light, agile and surprisingly quick. 1.9 dohc 5 speed.

the pinto is a roundy round dirt track car.

well i went to the first autocross event and there were a couple saturns there they put down some good times.

Your so lucky that you can autocross all year long here it is from May to october and that is it.

I would love to see Ttop get owned, but I'm sure that jabartram's son hasn't seen the fast and the furious as much as you :lol:

we run all year rain or shine, unless there is a hurricane.

I should hope it would beat my honda considering its in a scrap yard :lol:

and i've owned a saturn, and with a 0-60 time of 14 seconds, that thing was far from quick, i will however give you the light weight aspect

and i meant that first comment as no disrespect to you or you family, i just have a pretty strong hatred for the s-series saturns.

I'm excited first races here are beginning of june with a total of 9 summer events for points totals. If I drive across the state (5 hours) I can double my races easily.....

I wouldn't mind having a 5-speed SW2. 45 MPG? Yes please.

i would love to give autocross a chance however theres no even close enough. id have to drive like 3 hours down to southern maine for the closest one

I will be autocrossing all summer but mostly in my Mazda. I will be going to the SCCA national tour @ Packwood, co-driving an FSP focus (a previous class champion). The Alero is now mainly a daily driver but I have 3 rally cross events planned which I will be doing in the Alero. The first one is this Saturday and I will be posting results + pics next week. Hope I can make it back in one piece :p. Our oil pan might be a weak spot if I hit anything hard.

I was on all seasons with no traction... gotta get myself some gravel or mud tires. More videos and the results to come later.

I'm not washing it for a while haha... I opened up the hood after and everything was painted brown.

Good news, the car made it back in one piece and the bad news it wasn't setup to do rallyx and therefore was very slow. I'll need my stock suspension back on, disconnect my front sway bar, gravel tires, and a skid pan if I want to do this more often. I guess I'll just co-drive a beater my friend has instead.

man i really wish that kind of stuff was more local to me. i want to do it so bad.

Where do you live? I'm sure you can find an autocross car withing an hour drive of wherever you are.

As far as rallyx goes, find out to the stage rally groups in your area and tell them you are interested... those guys love to travel and love a fun event. For us it's really 1-2 guys who talk to the venues, invite rally drivers, bring cones and we've got ourselves an event.

yep that is the one i will be racing but i have to replace my headgaskets first before i can do any autocrossing. i went to the first 2 races and raced my friends jetta. i can not wait till i auto cross my alero.

lol there was a grand am that was autocrossing last race but I did not race. I am hoping to do some runs this weekend. i want to get some drilled and slotted rotors. I can not stop as well with the big 18 inch rims. I am buying s subaru SVX just for autocross but It is not going to be ready until next season. I might do some winter autocrossing since the subaru is AWD. I just hope my car makes it. i am having some problems with it but it will not stop me from racing it. My buddy is bringing a trailer just incase something happens.

Just do an oil change and use good oil before the race... and make sure not to bounce off the rev limiter for too long (that's how I killed my first engine).
I have driven the Subaru RS in the winter... it's fun and quick... never tried or seen the SVX though.

ya i changed my oil 2 days ago. I have driven an svx and they handles well. the only problem that they are automatc. but i am planning on swaping in a wrx tranny. it is the most common 5 speed swap for those cars. Also i like the 3.3 h6 It has a lot of hp for how old it is. 228hp and 230 foot pounds of torque.

I was just looking at the SVX and IMHO the RS would be a much better choice for autox. SVX is 3500 pounds with 228hp vs. the RS which is 2700 lb with 165hp... for straight line acceleration the SVX would be faster but RS would corner a lot better. Try looking into the RS if you haven't bought the SVX yet and you are buying this for autocross only. I must say the SVX looks very good for a daily driver.

i know i want a 1999-2001 rs but they are hard to find.
