Wheel Setup

Whats up guys...quick question. What do you think is the best tire and wheel setup? Also, what is the widest you can go on the back tires?...thanks

xXManwhoreXx 02-26-2012 06:13 PM

I'm honestly in love with my wheel setup... DRIV/Niche GT 19x8.5 34 with 255/30zr19
it is the widest you can go without stretching ( I hate stretched tires, ugly, uneven wear and not safe)

JLw7123 02-26-2012 09:47 PM

ya i have to agree with guiguilandry stretched tires look like shit and are not safe. i have quantum tek 18 inch rims with 235/40/18 and i like them. but you have to get rims that you like. what is your price range for rims and tires.

[ion] C2 02-26-2012 09:56 PM

This would've looked kinda cool if I kept with that route:

alerokid15 02-28-2012 04:15 AM

JLw7123 - no price range, just going for the best look/ride
[ion] C2 - sick wheels, i want to get some just like those if not close and go with red lug nuts. What are the name of those?

alerokid15 02-28-2012 04:17 AM

guiguilandry - do you have that setup for the front and back or just the back?

[ion] C2 02-28-2012 09:36 AM

Those wheels are hard to find.

WedsSport TC-005
or
RSL Ikari (the copy of the design)

front and back.. it is also the widest you can go in front too without rubbing when dropped 3,25'' like that (keep in mind that i don't have lot of suspension travel, du to the stiffness of the coilover)...

You are using a 34mm offset? Im using a 42mm and the biggest I've gone is a 235 and its bloody close to the strut.

I have the real deal....

Wedsport tc005, 17x8 with +32 offset.

255/40/17 on the fronts, and 235/45/17 in the rear.

guiguilandry 02-28-2012 12:42 PM

yep 34 offset is the only way to fit a 8,5 in wide rim in there, on stock strut I had to use a 1/8 spacer on the rear to clear.. I still have them on my coilover

Redog 02-28-2012 06:25 PM

FWD car + wider tires on the rear = FAIL

Streched tires? seroiusly? I hate seening DONKs and they are dangerous, now I have to see this?

yep, and that's why it is that way !!!

Papa Rad17 06-29-2012 05:07 PM

jahubbz's looked nice at ass. he just a 1 or 1.5in spacer on the rear.

tw0123 06-30-2012 11:01 PM

this is my set up... 245/40/20 the tires are too big, bought off a guy who had them on a buick regal... i put 1" spacers on the rear and rolled the fenders, and they do not rub... the front however, rubs the lower spring perch. I believe they are 8" or 8.5" wide

howie2336 07-02-2012 05:08 AM

I ran 20x8.5 American Racing Maverick wheels w/a 40mm offset. 225/30/20 tire

howie2336 07-02-2012 05:09 AM

My car was lowered too. Intrax springs/Sensa Trac struts.

tw0123 07-02-2012 11:20 PM

lol since howie edited about being lowered, I should mention I am on eibach/FE3 struts... waiting for the H&R/GR2's to be installed...

DRM Racing 07-20-2012 12:16 PM

i am running 18x5 with a 43mm offset and 215/35/18 tires and im dropped roughly 4" on the grand am and dont rub at all. sadly though the alero is stock..
