Paint like glass.

first time i buffed the car with a buffer, and i must say it looks fantastic. sorry there is only 2 pics... plus im bored so figured id show it off  i did this 2 days ago and took the pictures today. (car cover been on it since buffed)

it would be better if it was cloudy, ill try to get more friday since thats the next cloudy day. iphones can usually suck at taking photos on a bright sunny day.

smokemobile 11-28-2012 01:08 PM

Would look better with out the blue in my opinion but stiil looks good

billytheman1188 11-28-2012 01:26 PM

^x2. But hey...you like it so go for it. Buffing does wonders.....i HATE doing it though

says the one who once had the smurfmobile

I wish my paint had that much shine, however while I could get what is undamaged to look like that, it would need repainted with new bumpers and some dent removal to look near as good

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 01:32 PM

i like my blue stripes :)

more pics coming...

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 01:43 PM

this is why i hate non cloudy days!! pictures are junky!!

tw0123 11-28-2012 03:24 PM

I think it looks awesome... but your tails stick out now... maybe add one light coat of tint on them to give that slight sinister look to them.. :)

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 03:30 PM

i may just buy the tint film on ebay thats cut to the tail lights. be better option then vht.

03Sleepr 11-28-2012 06:06 PM

That film sucks, it looks like trash and comes off.

Again, when are you going to drop that beast?

then i guess the tails will stay stock. dont plan on going back to vht. and this way, i wont have close encounters of getting rear-ended anymore. :p

umm very very soon. i plan on buying springs within the next week. and then struts soon after. thinkin either eibach or H&R springs.... probably go eibach... struts of course will be KYB's.

cavaliers60 11-28-2012 06:58 PM

I like it. Come do mine?

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 07:00 PM

40$, deal. (gas for the trip there and back) lol

plus you gotta buy the cleaning products. cant use mine. ;)

03Sleepr 11-28-2012 07:37 PM

Go h&r..

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 08:06 PM

but the ass end sits up a little higher. :/ hmm...

well thats weird, could have swore eibach did about 2 inch drop. i looked on ebay for eibach springs it said 1.2 inch drop F + B.

H&R is 1.6 in F and 1.4 in R.

billytheman1188 11-28-2012 09:33 PM

Yea the eibachs are 1.2....i have h&r and i actually JUST noticed today that the back end is up a little higher...not a huge fan of it but w/e. Can't wait to see her dropped.

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 09:39 PM

there any other spring options out there? might just settle with h&r.

03glgold 11-28-2012 09:44 PM

weren't there some coilovers being worked on...whatever happened to those and how much drop did they offer

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 09:48 PM

not enough.. wot tech makes a set for like 600-700, and milzy makes a set as well for around 1500. and they drop much lower then wot-techs set, and he has it on his grand am at his shop, they are pretty nice.

tw0123 11-28-2012 09:55 PM

not sure about how the h&r's actually look yet, as they are still sitting in the shed, but here are a couple pictures of my eibach's for comparison on the drop... i have 2 subs in the trunk and that adds some weight, dropping the rear more than the front... overall the car appears level, but wheel gap is different...

XanderWiFi 11-28-2012 10:07 PM

My springs are h&r. Paint looks good, darker colors always shine much nicer.

sleepyalero 11-28-2012 11:15 PM

thanks for that two, looks pretty decent. wonder how they look with 18s.

xander, would you post pics similar to what two did? side view, front, and back?

xXManwhoreXx 11-29-2012 05:40 AM

Why not canuck springs?

jhubbz 11-29-2012 07:47 AM

Somewhere in the parking lot, someone is saying "why the eff is he so proud of an alero....?"

Some people just won't understand

sleepyalero 11-29-2012 11:02 AM

eric: cant seem to find em..

jhubbz: i get that alot. people think im stupid for some reason.

TheLastOfItsKind 11-29-2012 09:56 PM

I have been given shit a lot for being obsessed with aleros....it's the smooth front end and interior that hooked me

hey, i hear crap about it all the time. im too obsessed with my alero. its garage kept, doesnt see snow or rain, gets a car cover on it everytime its parked, gets cleaned just about every day, if not every other day... im very picky about her haha. but people think its junk well, wait till im built. then we will see if its junk!

billytheman1188 11-29-2012 10:09 PM

TWO....your drop looks A LOT lower than mine! wtf! lol....you on stock struts?

Two did what? Yeah I'll get some pics but it will be a couple days because I am separated from her at the moment and will be for a couple days while I finish up hunting season.

I have to play with the adjustments in time, but the H&R springs with the KYB AGX is extremely stiff. I feel EVERY little thing and spill my coffee all over myself frequently if it is in a mug. Hopefully, I can soften them up some.

spc2125 11-29-2012 10:42 PM

Whatd you do after you buffed it? What products did you use?

sleepyalero 11-30-2012 02:47 AM

xander i ment thanks Two0123 lol

spc, meguirs, nothing but meguirs.

You should look into Zaino. They use that stuff on Ferrari's and maserati's and stuff. I refuse to use anything but.

sleepyalero 11-30-2012 09:09 AM

sounds expensive... hmmmmmmm

It's really not. A bottle of Z2 show car polish is like $12 or something like that.

sleepyalero 11-30-2012 09:28 PM

ill look into it!

tw0123 12-02-2012 06:01 PM

fe3 struts? are those stock? i had the gr2's on my other hoe...no issues. I do like the AGX's a lot better though. Yea those 20's def help make it look lower i guess....i need to get some 20's ;) Nah im happy with my 17s lol. You go through a lot tires with those 20's?

PS if i'm getting too off topic i apologize....don't wanna jack your thread sleepy

rustyballs_69 12-02-2012 11:17 PM

The fe3 is the factory sport strut.

Ah ok....i figured... both of my aleros came with the "sport suspension" lol. yeaaaa

sleepyalero 12-03-2012 01:25 AM

no worries guys lol, your mainly talking about suspension and tires, so i dont care, either way, i basically got what i wanted to show on the first page. so from now it doesnt really bother me where this thread goes lol.

i mean, i started the suspension talk lol.

tw0123 12-03-2012 03:32 PM

Hahaha ya sorry nate for getting derailed!!

I have only had these wheels for 2 summers now, the tires are too big so i get some rubbing... I'm just waiting until they're completely toast then will reevaluate whether i keep them or search for something different depending on price of course :)
