Pick my paint job!!

Ok, if I keep my Sedan it will be getting the infamous $50 paint job before ASS, but I'm undecided as to what I want. So, I'll leave it up to the great people of Aleromod to pick my paint job! it can be as eccentric as you want, but lets be real here.. I was thinking this:

but it would say "Alero" instead of javelin.

or plain old flat black.

give me some ideas.

you could do the characteristic cheap kansas paint job and try to make it hide, not sure how well that would go though, or copy some of the people from around clay who like to paint their vehicles zebra

03Sleepr 02-07-2013 12:26 AM

Damn, I knew eccentric wasn't the word I was looking for lol.

I have no idea, I saw a RWB chevelle a while back that looked awesome. but I'm sure my alero wouldn't look near as good lol.

I'm leaning towards flat black, but I've got a lot of little dents I'd have to fill.

then I need some black wheels.

I think this picture sold me on it

sleepyalero 02-07-2013 12:28 PM

Do it I like flat black

Truth 02-07-2013 02:25 PM

Flat black all the way

tw0123 02-07-2013 05:02 PM

Do it flat black but use chalk board paint... then you can draw on it and have really cool designs and it just washes off in the rain :)

Redog 02-07-2013 05:16 PM

^^ Saw a car like that at a car show. Spray it with a house and it takes 20 minutes to dry

I was actually thinking about that earlier but I didn't know how well it would hold up or come clean.. I don't want a bunch of leftover white smudges all over my car..

Plus, does it still work well if it is thinned before painting?

Duval 02-07-2013 06:15 PM

You should be alright, just make sure to put a few coats on, the flatter the better. And all the chalk would come off good old car wash. Definetly different

Nas Escobar 02-07-2013 06:29 PM

Do this!! Haha

03glgold 02-07-2013 06:31 PM

painting a car pink should be an automatic death sentence without trial :p

I'm kinda liking the chalkboard paint, they even have different colors of it.

just saw a old E30 that was done with maroon and it looked awesome, I'm leaning towards maroon or black.

sleepyalero 02-07-2013 08:33 PM

That's badass

tw0123 02-07-2013 11:23 PM

OooOOoooo.... tough choice on the colour... I like the black cuz it's a chalkboard and you can use different colours for the chalk depending on your mood etc, but that maroon is just awesome as well...

Well, I don't want to spend 3 grand on paint for a $500 car, so why not have some fun with it?

Great outlook bud....yea go with a shitty quality paint job for a shitty car right? Good luck with that cheap paint job...

Nas Escobar 02-08-2013 03:19 AM

I'd go for the Maroon. Try to match it to the stock burgundy though, it would look cool.

So should I just leave my car how it is, Clear peeling off the hood, hail damage and two maroon doors, or should I just pay $400 to have it respayed to a color I hate? Sounds like a great plan.

I think that would be near impossible to do since I can't make this glossy, I'd like to since my 03 was burgundy And I loved the color.

My goal is <$300, I see no point in dumping thousands into this pos. if it was as nice as my 03 was then sure, but not this thing, I'll give it maybe 2-3 years before it's a cube.
