Alero Meet, Pre Homecoming event 2015

Talking it over with the g/f, seroiusly thinking about making the trek this year, Alero or not! :usa:

Anybody else?

I was even looking at the Lug Nuts schedual, they are playing that entire weekend. Good way to get the g/f to want to go :D

Oldsnut 01-13-2015 09:00 PM

I will be going as usual.

Redog 01-13-2015 10:06 PM

What about the game?

Papa Rad17 01-13-2015 10:13 PM

I will try my best to make it! Hopefully be starting my career out in industry somewhere so there is a lot in the air. This is on the calender though :thumb:

I am planning to be there with my new Alero so long as Milzy gets it completed in time. The jury is still out on this one as an unforeseen delay has occurred at his shop. Otherwise I may not have a car as I have sold my GXP effective this Monday when the guy flies in to pick it up.

Oldsman 01-17-2015 06:34 PM

all depends if my and bdyman get my car done in time. if we do it will be trailered out there.

tw0123 01-17-2015 10:26 PM

Why not drive it Scot? Isn't it being built to drive? :)

What all do you have Milzy doing to your new Alero?

sleepyalero 01-18-2015 12:49 AM

Hes finishing putting it back together basically, it was bought unfinished. 3400 5 speed swap

Me and him did what we could with it in my garage. Then trailered it to MMS to be finished.

I like how you answered for me. But I will be there for sure! maybe get a hotel room this time. Not sleep in my car.

sleepyalero 01-18-2015 04:45 PM

Bitch i know you too well.

You live like an hour away. Its a given you will be there. ;)

Depending on cost, i may get one too. Depends on weather. Last year it was fking cold. Woke up at 4am freezing started my car blasting heat for a half hour, and woke up babyblue in the process cause he was sleeping in his car next to me... Sorry bitch is loud at cold start hahaha

tw0123 01-18-2015 07:46 PM

Next time just cuddle together in the same car lmao

sleepyalero 01-18-2015 10:22 PM

No! And hurry up and get your car done and make it to a meet for once!

tw0123 01-19-2015 04:42 PM

Lol if i had a garage I'd be working on it every night... since mine blew down I'm stuck til spring.... I'm trying really hard to have it done by May for our wedding since the car was what brought us together...

sleepyalero 01-19-2015 06:09 PM

Well, gotta do LIM gaskets on the black car this weekend before the show. Shes leakin oil :(

I really think its the distributor cap o ring thats leaking though, i never changed that. And did LIM gaskets 29k miles ago. But she will be ready before next weekend. :)

Redog 01-22-2015 12:31 AM

That's what I love about the g/f. No more coming home to a cold bed at 4am after a 12 hour shift. She's like a heater

sleepyalero 01-22-2015 07:02 AM

For some reason that sentence sounded gross to me kenny lol

Redog 01-23-2015 01:44 AM

Don't hate ;)

Nope. Once it is done it will only be driven locally. Too much money and rare parts.

Beside I have driven every year but the last year.

This thing has turned into a showcar. Wasn't the original idea but oh well.

sleepyalero 01-25-2015 08:53 PM

You can still drive a show car. ;)

tw0123 01-25-2015 10:15 PM

Fair enough... i can see the investment and understand why you'd limit the use... mine will be a driver but i have no where near the same investment in mine...

I want to agree but after getting those skirts on its not worth the potential to hit that hidden pot hole and well, toast.

Oldsman 01-27-2015 08:12 PM

I hit a pot hole the rockers are the least of my worries. the rims are the worse, not to mention the brakes and the suspension. but yes after all the money and time you have to be careful.

sleepyalero 01-27-2015 09:38 PM

Agreed.

tw0123 01-27-2015 10:00 PM

So true on that... i wish there was some miracle that i could find a set of those wheels to finish my replica... that's really the last thing i really want for my car....

That01Olds 01-31-2015 02:07 PM

Go ahead and put my name on the list to attend this year. Alero or not as long as I can take leave that weekend, I'll be there.

sleepyalero 01-31-2015 02:14 PM

Sweet!!!

That01Olds 02-01-2015 03:14 PM

Yeah man!

sleepyalero 02-01-2015 03:58 PM

I like seeing the interest of more people coming. Im trying to get my car into shape for the show.

03glgold 02-01-2015 04:35 PM

We'll see how the old girl is doing at that point, she is doing decent right now, better than she was earlier in the month. Either this summer or next summer I plan on replacing her, most likely with another Alero. If this summer the money will go to buying a car instead of going to Michigan.

Yeah, I went in 2010 back when I still had my Alero. That was the year Andy had to wear his neck brace and I got to see the Beast for the first time. So I figure after 5 years it's time to make the trip again lol. I know it was a great time when I went then and I'm sure it will be another great time this year.

sleepyalero 02-01-2015 09:55 PM

Yeah, i dont think i was there in 10'.

Last year there was.... About 5 of us. But we didnt care, andy, ion, me, parker, papa all went there.

This year should have a few more people. But last year we kinda just went with the flow and just hung out, no go karts, no cook out or anything like that. But was a good time, always nice to take a vacation.

Papa Rad17 02-02-2015 04:30 PM

Indeed! regardless of not doing those extra activities. I had to get tires and brakes anyway. 09 was ryan's 'alero garage' and nate and I had mine half ripped apart last year, along with a terrifying journey. always been a great time the 2 years I have been able to make it. I plan on actually showing mine this year to. I'll be waxing it every time a spec of dust falls on it like everyone else  speaking of which the olds show and swap meet are cool as well. looking forward to it!

Babyblue 02-02-2015 08:42 PM

yeah I need a new motor before I go to this homecoming lol. Under 50,000 miles and I already seem to have messed it up. "note to self: DO NOT downshift into 2nd gear when going 75mph." I hit probably 8 grand in the rpm range even tho we top out at 7 grand. The gear ratio is what made it rev that high.

Papa Rad17 02-02-2015 09:56 PM

need to get ya speed lockout for 2nd gear too it sounds like. how bad?
