not w/o line level converters.

not sure where to get them, or hook them up. try doing a search for them.

thats what u want........aslong as ur amp is a 2 channel amp that is what u need.....most people tap off the rear speakers........short rca run

DarkStar 12-08-2005 08:34 AM

ok thanks alot guys :)

doubleN0alero 12-08-2005 09:48 AM

if you have mroe than a 2 channel amp, just get "Y" connectors at radio shack and you can hook up a 4 channel as well...

Even if you can i wouldnt recomend it. Its gunna sound like crap because of the wattage the stock deck puts out

whiteliquid 12-08-2005 11:10 AM

what year is the car?

even if i can what?

and its a 99

Str33tRacer 12-08-2005 05:43 PM

even if you can hook it up that way, Wait and then get a good enough deck like alpine

DarkStar 12-08-2005 05:49 PM

hmm, how much is that gonna run me?

Str33tRacer 12-08-2005 08:42 PM

depends, go to best buy circuit city talk to them, see what they have about 250-350 give or take, if you want little dalphins dancing on yer dashboard while listening to music, that will cost more i have the best alpine deck that circuit city offered, i forget the name but it was like oh... 320 and it puts out alotta wattage, enouggh for any sub combo

whiteliquid 12-09-2005 08:39 AM

Wondering the year because, 03's and up require a different type of wiring harness for the deck than the 02 and below. It's like a 116$. I bought 2 because i thought i had the wrong one the first time because my door speakers wouldnt work. But it's just really complicated. You have to wire it some wierd way.

But you have a 99 so all that i just said was pointless lol :offtopic:

kimosabea 12-09-2005 11:47 AM

since the 6X9 in there rear of most aleros are to channel, that means you could tap into the low side of the wiring and if you amp has high level inputs it it would pick up sound though the back speakers. as long as you make sure you hook into the low side of the wiring you should be fine. thats how i did mine and it sounds good. im sure it would sound better with a aftermarket deck but i saved some money and could always do it later

halfJ99 12-17-2005 12:26 PM

well it isnt like you have to spend that much on a cd player to get a good sound...i got a jvc arsnel (sp?) for $140 at americin ..i really like it

DarkStar 12-17-2005 01:19 PM

i think im just gonna go with the line level converter, but what part of the cd player do i hook it up to..?

DarkStar 12-22-2005 04:43 PM

well i got a cd player, an RVC and i took the old cd player out, but i cant find the ground and the positive wire, like i said its a 99 alero, but do any of you know what color the power and the ground wire are?

DarkStar 12-22-2005 09:44 PM

oh, and do the front speaker grills just pop out? the ones on the bottom of the door? or do i have to take the door apart?

shaunweimer 12-23-2005 02:08 AM

First of all...... don't do anything unless you know what you are doing, with a line level converter you need to tap into your harness. you need a Wiring diagram. second you will screw the door up if you try and pry/ pop the grills out you have to remove the red reflector and that piece underneath your door handle and you should see a total of 3 screws to take out then gently put a flat head screwdriver in the panel and start to pry towards yourself and pop pop pop its off but watch out for wires as the will need to be unhooked from the plugs. your best bet would be let the people who know what they are doing mess with it. if your from ohio and are close to columbus i could do it all in about an hour. i've taken my car apart many of times and could do it in my sleep lol.

DarkStar 12-23-2005 04:01 PM

hmm, no i got it all hooked up now, but when i turn the car to acc, the cd player turns on and then turns off.

any ideas?
