Whats size video monitor will fit in our factory HU space or do you have to do a custom job? Another ? has arisen too....how much would this cost at a local body shop? Thanks, John
most widescreen 7". and pretty much anything smaller. local body shop will charge a lot.
will a 7 inch fit good or will there be space and what not?
my 5.6 fit perfectly top to bottom, the sides had a bit of room, but a 5.6 is a little small, im gunna be cuttin it for a 7 pretty soon.
i have a 6" full screen in mine with no problems. but i am almost positive a 7" widescreen will fit perfect.

A couple more ?'s for you guys....when purchasing a monitor....will a monitor thats made for headrests work too? The only reason I'm asking is because thats pretty much the only monitors I'm finding. I need a monitor and then a head-unit that plays cd's and dvd's so I can still listen to some tunes once in a while...any help would be greatly apreciated guys thanks. I'm going for the look kinda like dansgen1alero had with my head unit where our cubby's and mine will be glassed in without the wood trim interior. I'm going to a buddy's of mine tom. and he works at an audio shop so if you guys dont know the answers to these maybe he will. thanks, john

I'm going to be glassing in a 7" widescreen lilliput monitor this week and it will reqiure me moving my HVAC controls. the monitor is about 1/2" to tall to clear the hvac. If its just a screen unit with out a large frame than it will fit perfect top to bttom but its about 1/2' shy on eithr side for a perfect fit Edit: its more like an ince to tall but thats because the buttons are on the bottom. I belive if the buttons where on the side instead I whould of had no problems.

There's this guy on mp3car.com that molded his screen into his using bondo or loctite or something like that...pretty much step by step...looks pretty simple.

I got a 7"roof mount that flips down........I like it a lot better than my last...
ok the monitor i'm putting in PITA!!!!!! Moving the HVAC controls not the easiest thing n the world
lol...sorry to hear that....are you gonna post pics?
Aleromaster!! I saw you on mp3car.
I do also have a lilliput 619... with touchscreen. I solved the problem with the HVAC by just rotating the screen 180degrees. And now I'm using a software to rotate the picture. No problem at all, and the screen fits perfect!! |
