I had to make this to see what everyone else thinks..... being that they look like they have almost the same exact car, just different colors and rims.....

If I remember reading correctly from the past, I don't think Daytona races his Alero. I could be wrong.

In any case, I believe it is bracket racing so the car doesn't really matter.

Daytona races his Daytona...Redog races the old Olds now doesn't he?

i think thats right.

if bracket racing, then it really doesn't matter.
in heads up, the Daytona will spank the Delta. I don't know what kind of times Daytona is running, but I know it's a lighter car. Might be faster than an Alero, but IDK.

Just to clear up some info.....

I currently race a 100% stock 1993 Dodge Daytona ES with a Mitsu 3.0 V6 and auto trans. Over 172k original miles on engine (never rebuilt). Race weight with driver = approx. 3240 lbs (depending on gas and snacks on board).

Ken was racing his Alero but will now be racing his Delta w/auto trans and engine is almost 100% stock.

Ken's Delta runs roughly 19 or 20 seconds. My Daytona runs roughly 16.8 seconds when left in 3rd gear and launched at 1100 RPM. Heads-up, I'd win every time. Ken's Alero got into the high 14's so he'd need that car to beat me heads-up.

Ken's racing history
- Raced and ran points for the 1st time in 2004.
- Also ran in 2005 and 2006.

Mitch's racing history
- Raced for the 1st time in Fall of 1986.
- Joined Points Series at Raceway Park in 1987.
- Won the 1990 Track Points Title in Trophy Stock (back then it was the 1/4-mile equivalent of Street ET but for cars with no major performance modifications besides tires and intake).
- "Retired" in 1991 to work for the track for the next 4 years as a Track Official and with NHRA p/t as a National Event official.
- Joined the Points Series again in 1997 in Advanced Trophy (previous class name of Street ET)
- Ran Points 1997-2001, 2003-Present
- Finished 2 points away from a 2nd Points Title in 2003.
- Finished in Top 8 in points standings 7 out of the last 8 complete seasons.

i'm sorry for even postin this, i had no clue of what was going on, i thought they were racing the aleros  :( :Noooo: my bad..... but im glad that i know whats goin on now though..... that daytona looks badass

Daytona 04-19-2006 05:51 PM

^No need to apologize. I'll probably start racing the Alero once she's old enough (just turned 45K miles yesterday) if I don't still have the Daytona or a replacement vehicle for her by then.

And thanks for the compliment. :thumb:

Daytona is a much better racer than I am, although he has taugh me a lot of good stuff.

Heads up wouldn't really be much of a challenge for Daytona if I was racing my Delta, and the same if I was racing the Alero v the Daytona.

Daytona and I have yet to race each other in a bracket. With his r/t's avg about .010, he is a tough guy to beat

BTW there is a Green Daytona IROC for sale by me right now
