Are you talking about what almost sounds like a creaking sound when you press the brake pedal? Aleros are notorious for that and I'm not sure if anyone ever figured out why. I have the same sound on mine, even after I've installed new pads and rotors. The noise must be from the caliper piston but it doesn't seem to have any negative effects on braking so I haven't bothered getting new calipers.

Its an alero thing. SOme have it some don't. My 01 2.4 had it, drove me nuts, but my 01 3.4 doesn't.

TSB is available for this. You...put some lube or grease or something somewhere.
