Springs...

Well, I'm going from 16's to 18's. I know I need springs because it'll look like a fairy basket if I don't drop it. Well, since I know nothing, just curious what springs I should be looking at.

I found these, but I don't know if they're any good...

Any idea what I should be looking for? Any help would be appreciated.

you're heading in the right direction, i have those on my car and i like them. i'm almost positive you can find springs cheaper than that though

I'm a sucker when things say "free shipping".

Thanks for the input. I'm thinking about getting them.

cause these springs are cheaper than buying them directly from intrax

Does this mean anything? Like did you need to do anything with it?

just get an alignment right after and you'll be fine...they're suggesting new struts like kyb, but you dont HAVE to...i didnt

Oh, alright thanks. Going to pick them up. :)

xmzx 07-31-2006 06:30 PM

Also forgot, is it worth getting new struts with the springs?

doubleN0alero 07-31-2006 06:37 PM

if you can afford it, then go for it

ebay can also be your best friend

I had to replace my upper strut bearing plates. The originals were pretty worn out and when I had my intrax installed they would slide around and grind metal. Once I got new bearing plates everything was cool. With the springs, paying to get them shipped to Canada, getting them installed, buying and installing the bearing plates, plus two wheel alignments, it cost me a total of $945. I could have done the install myself, but I didn't have a garage or good work area and it was during the heat wave. I could have done it for $400 on my own.

has anyone had to install the camber adjustment kits after installing lowered springs. or is the factory setup good enough to get the car aligned. I am looking into getting intrax springs and wondering if i need the camber kit too? I think I seen these springs on summit racing website for around $200.00

you dont need the camber kit. they are a total rip off. the suspension on an alero is extremely adjsutable. just put the springs on and take it to have an alignment done and they will adjust the camber back to within stock specs.
