Window trouble

Today when I was getting in my car to head back to school from lunch, I got in and went to let my driver window down and nothing happened. I checked to see if my passenger side was working and it was. When I was messing with the passenger side, I heard a loud pop noise, and my driver side window was sitting about half way down. I went to let it down some more and it just dropped almost all the way down just a little bit at an angle. I messed with it when I got back to school and took the door panel off and got it back on track. Now it goes up but when it's all the way up and you go to let it down, it just hangs. If you let it down too far without helping it down a little first, it just jumps out of track again. Is there something that is supposed to hold it onto something else. I wondered if my speakers might have something to do with it. If anyone has any tips, please help. Thanks.

Hey. Thanks guys. I ran a search for window trouble first but nothing really helpful popped up. I was already frustrated with it so I went straight on to asking. Today I went to the GM dealership I got a new piece. He said they're called a sash. It was only like 7.50 apiece. The guy said it only had one per door and of course when I got home, there were two and both were broke (Maybe he was lookin at a thing for a 4 door??). Now I'm waiting for my step-dad to get back with the other one cuz he had to run to town anyways.

I found it easier to take the window on out of the door to mess with it. And if it would help anyone else that has the same problem with gettin the old pieces off of the window, they told me to just use a razor to cut the old epoxy off. The guy at the GM place told me to look for Channel Lock or something like that to put the clips pack on the window but I think I'm gonna try some epoxy for glass.

And for an update, that razor story is bullshit. It helps to get the old stuff off of the glass but doesn't do shit for getting the old pieces off. If anybody has any easier way to do it, please let me know.
