im planning on running 2 amps, on 4 channel for the front and rear speakers, and an amp for my sub. my HU has front and rear preamp outputs. do i put the sub rcas in the rear output and the 4 channel rcas in the front? also, with the battery adapter, do i just put both power wires on there?

The only way you can do front, rear, and sub would be to run y cable rca's off the rear output so you can have both your 6x9's and subs off that pre-out. Though the only control you'll have for your subs is on the amp. The ideal is having a sub pre-out (3 pre-outs) for better control. As far as the power wires...you should run a main back to a distribution block from the battery, and from there run your power wires to your amps! Otherwise make sure there is an in line fuse for both power wires going to the battery!

both amps requie 4 gauge wire. what kit of distribution block should i get, one that runs 0 or 2 gauge in, and two 4 gauge out? does to main wire need a fuse, or will the in line fuses after the dist. block work? and finally, how can i connect two turn on leads to the HU? thanks.

Dude, you have a distribution block.. as does everyone on here [;)]

If that's what the amps calling for, that's the block you would want to use! I had a circuit breaker in line from the battery to dist. block, but a fuse would serve the same purpose. Run one lead back from your deck to location, splice two from there to take to your amps!

well in my pioneer I only have front and rear out but you have the option to turn rear to sub out then you could use a y adapter on the front channel and just adjust the gain per channel for you fader control

I'd run the 4 channel off the front pre-out, sub amp off the rear. You should have independant gains on your 4 channel for the front and rear channels, set the rear channel gain at a level that's decent for some fill. The benefit of this is to use the fader on your deck to adjust the bass level via the rear channel pre-out, which level you'd want to crank more often than you would the rear speaker level.
Put an in-line fuse within 12" on your power wire from the battery, distribution block in the back to give both amps some juice. Fused distribution blocks in the back are extra protection, the rating on the fuse close to the battery should be higher than the ones on the dist. blocks so it doesn't go first. You'd have to be working with some serious juice to requie 0aug, what are you running? |
Hey rodney... if you have questions about anything to deal with car audio, check out this website http://www.bcae1.com/. It's got an insane amount of information (and I do mean INSANE)... and will basically tell you everything you'll need to know.
