dome light
 

well ive been having this problem with my dome light to were i have to hit it to make it come on everytime i get into the car. the bulb is fine and doesnt seem to be the problem. when i push the switch for the light up toward the roof it turns on but as soon as i let go it goes back off or only stays on for a short period. anyone have any ideas. i have an 03 alero

pull it oput and check the wiring...... thats at least a start.....

Yeah I have the same problem but have not taken the time to investigate it further.

I had the same problem. All I did was take the light out (which was fine), and then I bent the wires on each end out a little so it would make the connection tighter, and put the light back in. Worked so far.

lol.. Mine fell out of the socket in the roof, so now I have a gaping hole on my roof liner and a big green metal space where the light use to be held.. It doesnt work when plugged in either, my wires are screwed. Might go to a salvage yard or something and see if I can find another one.

then it sounds like its a recuring problem from alot of owners and its not just me. but i think i will try the widining of the wires. kinda a bad design if you ask me. thanks

haha yeah when i first got my car i was drivin down the road one day and the whole thing fell out and was dangling by the wires, scared the piss outta me cause i thought there was a bird or some shit in my car! warantee fixed that though
