Got my Exhaust Done on Alero
Ok...I have an 2002 2 door 3.4 Alero and I just got a Flowmaster 80 series installed with dual stainless steel tips....looks awesome! Only a slight power difference, but seems to be smoother! My question is...should I add a CAI to match...also want a 180 degree thermostat......but not shure about PCM!
How do I post pics....I know HTML....but how do I get them on this forum...upload from my PC! Is it like Myspace...have to upload! Thanks guys! |
thermostat is a waste

tstat is pointless unless doing dhp pcm which requires it. I would stongly recomend the pcm, great bang for the buck mod.

Matt I don't think DHP PCM requires it, it may be a good idea, but I never changed mine when I put mine in and I have never had any issues. But I believe yours was reflashed correct so maybe that's is why?

upload your pics at photobucket.com... then if you want to post a picture on here, just click on the image button on the reply thing and paste the image URL that photobucket provides you for each photo... hope this helps.

t-stat is a good upgrade if you reprogram to match. factory settings turns your fans on at 220-ish, thats why you need either DHP PCM or else a Caspers fan switch. you ideally want your fans to turn on at 10-15 degrees higher than your t-stat rating, and off at about 5 above your t-stat rating. ie, 180 tstat should be set at 190-195 fan on, and 185 fan off. personal preference, but thats ballpark.

I would def do a CAI. I put in a t-stat long before the DHP PCM, kept the car cooler, but longer to warm up in the wintertime

jordan i didt the tstat with my original dhp, well before i got reflashed. But you are right i think, its not required but recommended.
