Yes || no?
you saw the price right? and you know that just about everyone who has one has had problems with it.
HELL NO. unless you really cant live without a s/c. do a custom turbo instead which will cost you what? all of $2,000-$2,500. |
This is true. RSM s/c programing isn't done right

yep, so you would have to buy a tuner to do it right so there's another $400 plus the time it takes to learn how to tune. |
The tuning is not that big of a deal, sice there are methods available for proper tuning. Fixing the design and construction shortcomings of the kit (mainly centering around the driveshaft) are a pain.
But the kit has been shown to make good power. |
ive heard of nothing but problems with that kit and for that price, there shouldnt be any, go with a custom turbo set up imo
Would a custom turbo put up "Gains of over 80 HP and 75 ft/lbs of torque with just 8 PSI of boost with no other modification" at the price of $2,000-2,500? I know absolutely nothing, so don't be flamin'.
that rsm s/c costs more than twice as much.. ridiculous
I would learn about the turbo's and shit before you just go having ppl put it in your car.
^^^^
Ditto. With a stock motor it probably cant handle enough boost to justify the expense. If you want to do something like this, I advise picking up a 3400 for a local yard and building it up for Turbo, or simply building it up NA. |
I would say no. I have heard nothing but negative feedback on RSM products. You would be better off making a custom turobo, which will be a lot cheaper than $4000.00 dollars.
is there any other superchargers available to the alero community besides rsm's?
not for the 3400
The only real supercharger is the 2.4 supercharger kit from GM. There is no official supercharger for the V6 Alero though.
thought the 2.2 Eco was the same one the j-bodies use, if so they got a roots one too
Yeah there is a eco tech supercharger, but technically it wasn't made to work with the eco tech Alero. There is no GM reflash for the eco tech supercharger though. My guess is you would have to use hp tuners .
RSM charges an arm n a leg, well they changed there name to something else I forgot the name, Im sure someone will say it after me, but for that price do ur own custom turbo setup, if you want to know everything bout it, Id hit up BlackJack on here.
RSM supercharger lacks.........look at the 90* coupler bends...... now how do you think air flow efficiency is with 90* bends?
Dont get it, why not just buy S&S headers, get a CAI and a cat back exhaust??? then after you do those three things theres more stuff you can do.
GO N/A!!!! |
230-235 whp is the most you can get out of a v6...someone correct me if im wrong...thats where we hit a wall and need to upgrade to supercharger or turbo to get more
