No shift kits, but B&M makes a switch thingy that you splice into the tranny wiring. It's for the 4L60 but is works on the 4t45 and 4t40.

I had one 4T45 and Oldsman has one 4T40. I only got rid of mine becuase I got the DHP PCM version 1.0 and they don't go together.

I think it's like $50 or $60 on Summit

sweet, does it just change the shift points?

it does something with the fluid pressure making firmer and quicker shifts or something like that

Yeah I looked on summit and they have it in their product line, but when you go to buy it its not on there...well I was just wondering, not quite ready for that yet anyway, but its good to know for when I am.

Shift kit

I would stay away from shift kits. I heard shift kits do nothing but kill your transmission. I was reading about shift kits and a lot of people talk about their transmissions slipping with the kits. There is a turn off switch where you can activate the shift kit. After a while your transmission gets so used to the new kit settings your transmission while start having problems. If your Alero is just a daily driver don't waste your money on a shift kit. You don't need that kind of shifting power. I would only use a shift kit if my car was for track use only.

Yeah, the more I check into them the less it seems like a good idea. Plus I actually put my foot into it this weekend and if you apply more than 70% throttle its really not as sluggish as is when you are just driving normally. Thank you all. Hey Alerocharged what part of Nc are you in, I go down to Roanoke Rapids every other weekend...

Fayetteville native

I'm from the Fayetteville area which is not to far from Fort Bragg. By the way Virginia is a beautiful state. When I was driving back to my duty station out west I traveled through Virginia. I just loved seeing all the natural woodland. Virgina seems like a nice place to live.

PM Oldsman and see what he thinks of his set up. I rode in his car briefly last weekend and didn't notice any problems with his, but he has been driving his more lately.
