Hid's problems...

So ya'll know i got hids...

Well, some people spoke about that if u buy the cheap HID kits they disturb your radio reception and basically harm your car's electricity.

And as antichrysler said, they do blind quite strong without having them fixed right.

I've never really noticed anything wrong with the radio, but today i saw that they r right and it did disturb my radio reception (and when i shut it off the radio worked fine).:banghead:

Even tho my kit didnt cost that cheap (317$) and even tho i installed it with professionals in a big shop im suffering from those problems...

I also heard that some problems in the car inspection might occur because of that and boy i dont want that!

I heard something about that if u install some sort or OEM lens or something like that it should look ok and if u switch to a quality kit it will be just fine and won't harm the radio/car... or maybe that OEM lens is a projector?

Anyway i've made a serious mistake here... I hope i can get my money back and im going to switch to original halogen bulbs until i'll find the right kit and tools to install HID's...

I feel kinda bad coz i always felt something is wrong with this kit only by seeing the box! it looked so fakey and i was feeling bad with the whole thing:(

Did something like this also happened to some of the guys here?

if you just improve the grounding wires in your car, you should be fine. its just the fact that your throwing alot more current into the metal of your car... eventually when you hit the point where it all can't get back to the battery quickly enough, your gonna get some static on your radio...

^^^ in with him dude, the ground wires in our cars suck balls

Thanx guys... i was getting worried.

What do u exactly mean when u say grounding wires? which wires? and what should i replace them with or how does this thing works? that will help me alot.

I never had any problems like that, but I didn't use the stock harness. I grounded them right to the car, and used a relay so the power is coming stright from the battery.

oh, and my kit was a cheaper one I guess, because I only paid $200.

That's why u didnt have problems... i'm really not sure what to do about this...

With my HID kit, I used my stock wires I just had to wire in different harnesses so that they would plug in to my ballists, so I dunno I didnt have a problem cuz I spent a good 350 bucks on my kit.

Well, basically what they're saying is you should adjust the ground on your car so it goes to the body... it has to get back to the battery

I used my stock ground thats in the headlight itself and the wire running too the connection, never had a problem with mine, I did a bad ass sodering job too so it all worked in the end, I just had to buy new harnesses to fit up to the balasts, but they sold em at autozone.
