3800 SC swap
 

thinking about doing this what is needed. i know the basics i just need to know what all the little tid bits like programming, clip ons, etc etc

there's a guy, raven, who did it to his cavalier. should give you more insight, as this site is more cosmetically driven than performance.

damn, i was hoping there would be more on this bc i was hoping to swap either this or that 5.3 v8 that they throw in the Monte Carlo. Just ideas i was throwing around, but there is a junkyard near me with a wrecked GTP with working engine and a wrecked Monte SS with the 5.3 still working

a guy around my area is putting in a 5.7L V8 (already got the RWD conversion good to go) into his 'ho.

hmmm theres a place a few hundred miles out of town selling nothing but these motors for cheap and im thinkin about it....

how cheap is cheap and where is this?

not too clear on it but ive been reading up on this for the past few hours...... and apparently alot of people are favoring smaller more lighter motors with big power over big bulky heavy motors with big power.

the 3800pro guys have nice times and powerfull L67's but the L67 is signifficantly more heavy than the LA1 or a 2.2

so gosh im on the fence about finding a eco and building it up and swapping or L67 :(

well im doing series 1 3800 s/c swap i have engine tranny axles engine is complete as it gets right now without the body. i also have the pcm ecm just need the wiring harness then im good to go. so far it looks like the motor mounts that attach to the side of the engine shouldnt be that hard to get to work.

u need 2 get some pics of this swap in process , gotta see how its working out for ya

i thought the 3.8 in the cavy was cool but this just tops it all..and i used 2 own a 6000 lol

im going to try to figure out how to get it so i can see the engine run on the pallet. i done it with a 350 but carbed engines are so much easier to get to run on a pallet.

Isnt that the old 3800 ?
