exhaust question
I'm looking for suggestions for an exhaust setup for my alero. Obviously I have the 3400 V6. Any suggestions would be awesome! Someone did tell me to go to a shop and have them do a custom exhaust. All I'd have to do is pick out a muffler that I want.. Is this correct?

everyone seems to be goin with the flowmaster 40 series, but on my ho i went with magnaflow

i had a flowmaster 40 for 2 years before one of the baffles inside broke somehow. it didnt matter really because i was going upgrade the pipe from 2.25" to 2.5" but when i did i went with a magnaflow. with my particular setup (built motor) the magnaflow sounds better. i loved my flowmaster before though. the exhaust shop that did my magnaflow catback said that flowmasters arent lasting as long as they used to and magnaflow is better quality. both are priced comparatively.

Get the headers from S&S and then have a muffler shop copy the bends in your stock exhaust pipe and the put a couple of Apexi Carbonfiber Rapped N1 muffler tips, or one if you don't want duels.

i run an 80 series flow with custom 2.5" and tog headers, i'll be changing to dual 44's with 3" when i setup the turbo system.

I went magnaflow with mine. it sounds great on my car which just has a cai

If it was me, I'd pass on the baffled Flowmasters and go with a straight through Magnaflow, along with 2.5" piping from the headers back and a high flow cat.

i got some videos in my sign of my dual 40's. i like them very much. w/e you pick will sound good, as long as its not a fart can of any type.

Right now I have the Flowmaster 80, but I want to upgrade to dual Flowmaster 44's soon
