Hey, just checked out an aftermarket tire and wheel shop, found a set of gorgeous 18's for my ride but their 18x8's are cheaper than 18x7.5 in the same style and finish. My question is, will the 8 inch wide rims fit on my car, or would I need to find 7.5's? the weblink for the exact rims is:here. Whadya guys think? The store I found 'em at, sells the set with tires, firelli's for 950.

The 18x8's fit fine from what ive heard...
I think it was Naich that has those same wheels on his car... and some one else has some other eagles, diff wheel but 18x8 so they should be fine

Yeah, 8" wide will work as long as the offset it somewhere close to 38... and get 235 wide tires (225's will look silly)

BLK03GXS 04-14-2004 09:22 PM

I want 245's :D

vodkaslut85 04-14-2004 09:23 PM

wouldn't 235's spill out over the sides of the rims??

Naich 04-14-2004 09:33 PM

no, 235's will fill it perfectly. 225's will be stretched out. 245's will look good too, but might rub.

where do you see $950? I see 1499 with pirelli's...

I'm not buyin' from that site, I found a wheel and tire shop by my house that sells those rims with pirelli's for 950. I wouldn't buy something that expensive off the internet if my life depended on it.

I had 18x8.5 so 8" will definatly fit and i was running 235/45/18 nitto's and had no rubbing issues. The 235's fit the rim perfect to

thats a relief because i am getting 18x8.5's on saturday and i totally forgot about the whole offset thing. hopefully there arent any issues.

Jesus 8.5"? You could fit a 265 tread width on a rim that wide... I don't see why an alero couldnt handle a tread width that wide if the rim itself fits?

Naich 04-15-2004 11:57 PM

no, 245 would be too wide unless you have the right offset. 245 is possible... anything higher and I'd wager you'd need to move in the struts.

BLK03GXS 04-16-2004 01:37 AM

so i want to run a 245/50/r17 wheel/tire combo...
What offset if wheel is required to make it work??
Any one know for sure

jackal2000 04-16-2004 05:28 PM

i just got my rims put on today and so far no rubbing problems. however one of the rims is defective (chrome is chipping) and i am getting it switched out when i get back from leave on the 26th. i'll post picks later. the rim is like a cm or two away from the strut.

BLK03GXS 04-16-2004 06:04 PM

what offset are they??

jackal2000 04-16-2004 07:35 PM

45, sorry forgot to mention that.

tires are 235/40/18 wanli zr

it will look better when i get the eibach springs i ordered last night.
