Start up troubles! help
 
Hey guys how you been, well im really concerned for once with the car, i wake up its a chilly morning bout 60 degrees nothing out of the ordinary and i got to start the alero banger, when i turn the ignition and the car starts but shuts off with a cough, all the interior electrical works except for the RPM, Speed, thermostat and gasoline gauges soo im really concerned with it if any of you have any feed back please let me kno asap im desperate and you guys are my only hope her other wise its off to the rip off mechanic

How old is the car? Have you ever replaced the battery?

its a 99 v6 and new battery bout like 5 months ago

Are you using the original key? Sometimes being worn down causes the security keypass to cut power to the fuel pump. I had this problem, switched to my spare key which had never been used, and it starts fine now.

Sounds more like an electrical problem.. the gas and temp. gauges would still work even though his security trips.. id start checkin fuses and mabey the battery :blink:

yeah the temp n gas gauges didnt work but it jus started up 2day soo ill let you gus know waht it was

my gauges didn't work right when my battery was effed up. try checking to make sure the battery terminals aren't loose or corroded. otherwise, take ur battery for a load test to see if its dead.
