Riding spinners!

What ever happened to that whole "spinners" scene? It was sooo huge a year ago or so.. and now its completely disappeared. Ive had mixed emotions towards them. Coming from the minitruck scene, many werent able to have the spinner adapters because they would hit the wheel wells when laid out. A kid down the street had some for sale. He needed some money to pay for a ticket. I flipped him a couple bucks (150) for them. I will try to get some pics of these this weekend when it warms up a little bit. I would love to here what everyone else thinks about this.

** I dont get offended easily.. I can stand getting flamed for this.

Obvioulsy I wont actually be driving around with these on my car. Im just weeks away from baggin the alero and im pretty sure that these would hit the fenders.

i think the "non-spinners" (meaning, when moving the rim gives the appearance of not moving) are cooler than spinners.

StoopidAlero 02-28-2008 01:21 AM

Yea.. I love the "floaters" I think thats what they call them. There is a guy here locally that has a set of Davin floaters on a lowered Audi and they look amazing.

adam337 02-28-2008 01:34 AM

wow.. ive never heard of "floaters" before.. but all i can say is these things are effing trippy.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W724q...eature=related

StoopidAlero 02-28-2008 01:44 AM

Yup..those are floaters.. The cool part is when they stop, then the wheel starts spinning.. But when they are driving.. the wheel doesnt move..

adam337 02-28-2008 01:50 AM

if i drove by a guy with those on the road..id think i was high lulz

Vinalero 02-28-2008 05:13 AM

Have you been living under a rock, these have been out for a couple of years now. I personally don't care for either of them I think they are stupid looking, and dangerous. Big Rims, Color Matched, crap like that I like but Spinners is stupid thats why its die-ing out. I like the idea of a rim that you can change the insert colors to match anything you got going on on your ride, or even to match you clothes on any given day. Crap thats simple like that I like. Clean and Simple!

i seen some 20's on a cherry red cadilac cts last night! amazing on luxury cars but not sport compact.

lonnie 02-28-2008 07:42 AM

When they came out with the spinning hub cap then I knew it was dead. RIP Spinners. LOL

shiny alero 02-28-2008 07:45 AM

^^ i had those lol. my first car was a 95 shadow...tinted windows with lotsa bubbles, spinners, lighting audio stickers all over oh ya :coolio:

Gr1m 02-28-2008 08:58 AM

you probably wouldnt hit the wheel wells on the alero, unless they are 20s

FrankTheTank 02-28-2008 09:05 AM

i dont like spinners, they make the wheels look to cluttered.

jayson_waltz 02-28-2008 09:26 AM

^ a guy in town here has spinners on his f-150. it actually doesn't look too bad. I like those picture ones tho, i saw them on a thread here about a year ago.

doubleN0alero 02-28-2008 09:39 AM

Best spinners I've ever seen where on a big rig years ago....they just aren't my thing though.

clutch1 02-28-2008 12:48 PM

A guy rolls around my town in an older.. Blazer I think it is. It's black with black rims, but the spinners are chrome. It looks pretty tight, I'll give it that.

StoopidAlero 02-28-2008 12:55 PM

Im gonna have to get some pics of this right quick. I dont have my wheels on yet ( been like 30 degrees for the last month in STL ) But I can snap a couple pics of the spinners on the rims..

pimpalero2003 02-29-2008 03:49 AM
