Question?? I was thinkin about gettin air-- what kits work best i hear taht the grand ams work bolt on or none???? I need help with this and who tyo get it from also what about other cars that work with the aleros this is my first alero.... I know about cavaliers but not this... Please help :D

basically anyting bolt on for the GA and GAGT will fit either seamlessly or with just a little modding. The one problem with air ride is if you bring the wheels in too close to the body, in the back, the door jam (hinge thing) stops the wheels from comming up any higher so you have to relocate them or re-do your entire door setup. otherwise, if your willing to pay for it, air ride has a system for our cars and theres annother website that I'll find for you that I was looking at before.

air ride technologies has a great kit for the alero

grand am sutff will bolt up the the alero's, we have identical chassis's

queen_b 05-07-2004 12:13 AM

for the kit from the grandam is there ne moddin to it that i would have to do
>>>> are they bags or cyls.. so just get the whole kit for the gam?? no extras ...

Silentalero 05-07-2004 12:17 AM

bags or cylinders its up to you really...no nothing to modify

queen_b 05-07-2004 08:16 AM

which are better for this car.... i know cyls are good sometimes
bags tend to blow sometimes if not careful

belowu 05-07-2004 11:12 AM

dont get cylinders eespically for aleros since there mac strutted cars. get teh strut bags. but i wouldnt even get those i woudl get hydros they are teh best for mac strutted cars

one of the best kits i have worked with
everything is plug and play with excption of you have to ground it but that`s it
the struts are bolt on and are even adjustable meaning you can give a soft or firm ride
they are expensive but worth every penny you spend
trust me buy that kit iam buyin it for my self and have installed their kits in the past AIR RIDE!!!!

Silentalero 05-07-2004 11:22 AM

Yea he is right, for adjustable suspentions on mcpherson strut cars hydros are the bet but also more expensive...I had air before and had problems with it so i went juice instead. Bags are the better option and are your safest because if something goes wrong your car isnt laying frame and uable to move...

just whatever you do, do NOT buy anything from Chassistech aka AIM industries....

racin4JC 05-07-2004 01:43 PM

What is wrong with AIM? Just wondering I am also thinking of getting air ride!

Silentalero 05-07-2004 02:00 PM

I had their best kit...they suck

compressor kept popping the solonoid...
the tank rusts from the inside out..
Their fitting are the cheapest thing man have ever made (cheap plastic snap in fittings)...
Their valves screwed up...

list goes on.

Sportalero 05-07-2004 02:14 PM

Hey, Si, do you have a link to the webpage, or better yet, to the exact kit that you are referring to

bdyman 05-07-2004 02:18 PM

again here is the link
http://airride.com/productinfo/airstrut.asp
like iam sayin the best around
all plug and play no cunfusion in wiring
they have the best products around!!!!!!
costly but this is your suspension you screwing with!!!!! do not be cheap on the suspension
c`mon people i used them before great great product

Silentalero 05-07-2004 02:45 PM

queen_b 05-07-2004 09:31 PM

queen_b 05-07-2004 09:33 PM

bdyman 05-07-2004 09:38 PM
