Intake Manifold Gaskets
 

I'd get the metal Fel-pro set at Autozone, it had the upper / lower intake gaskets and sealer, valve cover set, o-ring, etc., complete for about $85.00. I think they called it the "problem-solver."

dont forget to torque the bolts with a torque stick.....

That will cover all you need. I normally do the Tstat while i am there, it is $10 and cheap insurance. Other than that all you need is the tools and about 6 hrs to do it.

I also did the O ring seal where the distributor used to go into the block.

Its a $2 part that if it does go out, is a real treat to change. So do that with the $10 t stat.

They have 2 listed. I probably bought both (about $2 for both) to make sure I had the right one.

I had one of thse go out in a beretta. Cost me $150 to have it changed.

I couldnt figure out why the car was smoking, low on oil, and leaking oil. Ahhh when i was a kid...

That sir would be the oil pump shaft, if I'm not mistaken located near the firewall just under th corner of the intake.

That extends vertically on drivers side up to the top of the block? Has a U shaped yoke with a single bolt holding it down?

Yup. that would be it. Its about 1 1/2 inch in diameter. I suggest doing a tune while your doing the LIM since it so much easier to get the spark atm.

Ya no doubt, right there. Toss $8 worth of plugs in it too. Gas mileage goes up :)

Oh, and for that oil pump drive gear, it can help to use the o-ring as well as a paper gasket (one for a small-block chevy works fine). Helps prevent any future leaks. They should've redesigned that thing when got rid of the distributors (last 60°V6 with a distributor was in '93)
